Just saw him play on ESPNU in an AAU Championship game. He drove baseline and dunked on this kid so hard. When asked what schools he was considering he said Kansas, Tennessee, Mizzou, and Purdue as the first 4 he mentioned. This guy seems pretty good. Had something like 22 points in the game in a losing effort.

Hmmm....Scout.com says he has "No Interest". We offered.

He's a 4 star #11 SF. Only 6'4, 180 lbs, but it says he's multi-positional

he is #9 in the ESPNU #150 and the #3 rated Shooting Guard. According to TOS Pearl is after him pretty hard.

Hahaha what the heck is wrong with Scout? I should have looked on ESPN first.

So we're shaping up to have a guard-heavy 2011 class...I hope we can land some of those forwards who are interested in us.

I saw him on ESPNU as well. Sure would love to have someone on the team that will take it to the rack like he did on that dunk.

He would be a good replacement for Hopson when he decides to go pro this year

yeah taht dunk was absolutely nasty. ESPN usually does a good job with their basketball rankings. I think I heard that Pearl wants to take another guard and a post. TOS said we are after Johnny O'Bryant. He's a 6'9 post from Mississippi.

O'Bryant is a good prospect. I think I heard he's heavily leaning to one of the Miss. schools.

It would be a small miracle if McLemore went anywhere but Kansas. However, if not them, then we have as good a shot as anyone, if not better. We have offered. I wonder if he has a solid offer from Kansas yet, because to hear him talk, you would think that he would have committed to them by now if he did. Our best chance is if they choose not to offer him in lieu of someone else. Who that would be is really beyond me because McLemore is that good. As to his position, he is a SG on the collegiate level who needs to work on his ball-handling to achieve his potential. He is good on the drive, much like Hopson. He has a quick first-step. If he gets by you on that first step, it's over, but like Hopson, he struggles to take his man off the dribble.

O'Bryant is, and always has been a pipe dream. Shame, because he is real good and has something like a 4.0 GPA.

Rivals has McLemore as having High interest in Kansas and Medium in everyone else FWIW.

Just goes to show how far Pearl has brought this program. In 5 years he has us competing with the top programs in the country for recruits. Now If we can start putting some of that talent in the league. Hopefully this recruiting battle with Kansas ends in our favor, unlike the one last year for Selby. Dang, typing that makes me realize that one still stings a little.
