We have to keep pace with Mizzou at this point. It's impossible to say how many, it's that close.

These threads are so different after a win then they are after a loss. After a win it is pretty much just a handful of regulars, while after a loss these threads are active with all the idiots crawling out of the woodwork

Does anybody think Serrrano will have a quicker trigger finger with making pitching changes now that Godley started off the weekend with a complete game? I know hindsight is 20/20, but imo Serrano has been a bit slow pulling an obviously struggling reliever out this year and don't know how much to not being sure what you'll need from the pen the next couple of days.

I think he will stay with Nick Williams as long as he can in today's game. After that, it's all hands on deck.

Maybe the threads are so different because there is so much difference between winning and losing.

This team is young and terrible. One game does not necessarity change all of that. Sure do hope they recruit well enough to compete in the near future.

As for making the tournament. It really is a sad state of affairs that we should have to content ourselves with avoiding the ignominy of being one of the worst two teams in a 14 team conference.

Having not actually watched this years product - I am still pretty confident that we are on the right track. Very, very, young team - a lot of whom are making major contributions - the only area I feel we have missed on - take that back two areas - 1. Bennett should have been in the lineup all year -- and we are going to have to bring in better pitchers. You are forced to make your closer - your #2 starter for the second year in a row - we must have swung and missed on a few pitching prospects. The good thing is a couple of really good pitchers can bring about a dramatic change in just one year. I feel confident CDS will get this fixed.

IMO...many folks just look at the scores and the record, they don't listen to/watch/ go to the games. Hard to see the improvement that way.

Let's talk Simcox for instance. I remember people wanted him pulled because he was making too many errors. People wanted him yanked because he didn't start off great swinging the bat. He currently has the best batting average in SEC games on the team. He made two great plays fielding balls yesterday and recognized to try to make the throws would be careless, so he held the ball, he wasn't doing that earlier in the year. Those two plays and his batting average show a lot of improvement. Of course, if all you do is check the scores, you wouldn't know that.

VJax is batting just short of .300, he's made at least 3 plays this year where he got above the wall to bring balls back...he's gonna be a stud.

Stewart has really c'mon at the plate, compared to the beginning of the season.

I could go on...we need pitching, sure we do...You can't expect to get three weekend starters in one class, you can hope, but to expect it is unrealistic. Base running is another area where I'd like to see improvement, at least one head scratcher a game seems like.

Last year's team couldn't score runs, Arkansas swept us last year by a combined score of 26-5 I believe. By then, that team had given up, this team has battled in every game but one this year. THAT's the biggest improvement. We are like 6-11 in one run games this year, just flip that to 11-6 and that's a big difference.

Spot on post. I will also add that people can't always judge pitchers from a single box score. For example Owenby had his struggles early in the season, but it was fairly obvious that he had the stuff to be a solid SEC pitcher once he started to locate his pitches better.

I agree completely and I believe as this team matures we will start winning some ofthose close games.

Yes but that's pretty much the case with all the sports on here. The basketball forum is much busier after a loss than after a win, and the last few years the same with the football forum.

Our fanbase apparently loves to pile on.
