Bernie Madoff > Mike Hamilton

You guys should check out some of the tweets people send Mike Hamilton's way. They are brutal, but probably validated at this point.

Hamilton could raise money and build facilities. But he let everything else rot. And all his hires were terrible.

Yeah! So let's compare him to a criminal. Good idea.

OK, let's just break this down for a sec. I appreciate your concern, but what is different, really? Bernie Madoff was reckless. Lived a lavish lifestyle off of other people's money and lost everything for a lot of people. True that.

But, in comparison, Mike Hamilton (and personally, i like the guy), took what was a perinneal powerhouse football team and turned it into a shamble, took a mediacre basketball team to greatness and then back to the depths of total darkness, took a baseball team that was competing on a national level and took it down, and really, who cares about the rest of the sports, nobody else does.

Madoff? He did pretty much the same thing to a lot of people's personal finances. So, that is a crime.

Hamilton? He did it to state money so to speak so it didn't hurt anybody.

Now, for all of you liberals that post on here thinking that that money is simply monopoly money, YOU are the dumb ones.

BTW, this thread was started at the conclusion of a basketball team (under Mike Hamilton's direction for the past ? years) that just lost to College of Charleston, was it? Coming off a loss to Austin Peay. And a 5-game losing streak. So, I think the comparison is real.

When i first started the thread i kinda felt bad. But after thinking about it, the comparison is real.

Also, it was really meant as a joke. But, some didn't get it. Most did, i bet.

looks like the OP heard the name Madoff on tv and didn't really investigate what he actually did

Honest question: is there anyway Hamilton gets hired without Fulmer's endorsement?

He got hired because we went after four or five big hitters and they all turned us down. He was at the right place at the right time. He did have a number of years under Dickey. And IIRC he had to kinda be under Dickey's wing for like the first year or so before he totally took the reigns. That would fun.
