what channels are ur most favorite and least favorite to watch a vol game on? for some reason, ive always liked to watch ut games on cbs and i was impressed at how much love the fox broadcasters gave us last year. ive never really liked espn broadcasts and absolutely hate jp sports.

if I remember correctly NBC is the network that we have the worst win/lost ratio so any one but them... I can stand ESPN as long as its muted, and I like JP because they pick up games that I wouldn't get to see otherwise

cbs is ok now, although I always hated it when Sean McDounough used to call the Vol games. With espn, it depends on who is calling the game. I actually like Ron Franklin and Mike Godfrey. Other than that, I wouldn't give you a dime for the rest of them. It's not out of the question to mute the sound and listen on the Vol Network. I did that all the time with John Ward, and find myself doing it more and more with Bob Kesling.

Best: Franklin and Gottfried on ESPN

Worst: JP's three Dave's.......Dave Baker, Dave Rowe, and Dave Neal.......absolutely horrible

I also enjoy the entire ESPN College Gameday crew. Love them or hate them, they are College football tradition and do a lot to promote the sport. Also Rece Davis, Trev Alberts, and Mark May I think do an excellent job at setting up every Saturday. College Gamenight is fun to watch on Saturday nights at midnight to recap all the day's action with Rece, Mark, and Trev.

I like the Thursday night ESPN team. I think Mike Tirico is a very good play by play man.

I agree about the JP broadcasts. Dave Rowe is probably a really nice guy, but he's just annoying to me.

Although Mark May and Trev Alberts are morons, I'd agree with you.

I tend not to focus on what's being said, just the game that's going on in front of me.

I disagree - slightly. Mark May may say some negative things, but I think he is a very smart guy.

Trev Alberts on the other hand is a complete meathead. The guy went to Nebraska for goodness sake?!!

Does anyone remember when Keith Jackson did Tennessee-Alabama games. He was always for Bama! :angry:

Best: CBS (Vern Lunquist and Todd Blackledge)

Worst: Mike Golic and Bill Curry (ESPN2)

Spencer Tillman is another one I could do without. He's the guy that criticized our playcalling last year . . . during an off week as he commented on another game. :huh:

That Jermaine Jackson look alike could disappear from the airwaves and it would be fine with me.

JP's 3 Dave's do try? They just annoy me, seems they call the wrong name or # alot, and to them everyone tends to be a Freshmen.
But hey' if its not on they usualy cover it so crank up Kesling another notch.

Anyone ever PPV games? Its very strange...I dont remember who we played? But the PPV i ordered last, Showed alot of the halftime POTSLB performance, while they reviewed the first half of play. I thought that was unusual but neat..

Mike Golic and Bill Curry are not any better on ESPN 2.

Ron Franklin and Mike Gottfried are the best in the business.

I also can't stand watching ND games with their commentary. Absolutely hate it.

Oh yeah, and Spencer Tillman could drop off the face of the earth and I wouldn't care.

This may be a smidge off topic, but vols2345 told me today that my favorite sports personality on TV, Stephen A. Smith, is getting a show. He's gonna make Jim Rome look like a poser.

Stephen A. Smith is probably going to find out that it's a lot harder to keep people's attention for 30 minutes than for 30 seconds like he does now.

I like ESPN, but I really wish they'd stop giving shows to every sportswriter and analyst with a Type A personality.

i like jefferson pilot even though ut will never play a florida or alabama game on it. Cbs is probably second and then espn aka tennessee haters.
