2012 NCAA tournament - Best bets among bubble teams - ESPN

we gazed into the crystal ball of ESPN's new College Basketball Power Index and used the predictive power of BPI to see which major conference bubble teams are strong enough to grab a few final wins and push into the field of 68.

SEC
Lunardi puts enigmatic Mississippi State in the field with a win over Georgia. That should be pretty simple -- apart from the fact that the Georgia actually claimed the last battle of the Bulldogs on Feb. 11. (Now you see how that "enigmatic" label applies.)

Bad losses (four of them to teams with an RPI over 100) have put Tennessee in a hole, and the Vols likely need a pair of wins in the SEC tournament to grab a bid on their own merits, the second of which would likely need to come against Vanderbilt.

BPI Breakdown:
The Vols topped the Commodores in Knoxville but were crushed in Nashville. BPI point differential argues for Vandy (10.1) over Tennessee (6.6) on a neutral court, but the Vols have won eight of their last nine, including wins against Florida and Vandy. In fact, Cuonzo Martin's team has four wins against teams in the RPI top 35, and don't forget, Tennessee topped UConn in nonconference play. Beware bubble teams: The Vols may be closer than they appear.

As I've continued to say miss st with one win is most likely in, and 2 they will be a lock.

Out of curiosity is Tennessee still 700:1 to win the championship?

Much like betting pre season Super Bowl odds, Many of the teams won't even make the playoffs.

There was a number out last week of 700:1, I was just curious if it had changed.

How can you place a bet on that if you are not in Vegas?

Tennessee would be a "rest of field" team. So probably 30 to 1, jointly with over half the field.

Florida the same, I would think.

You will not be able to wager on the NCAA field until brackets are released. Odds will be released then.

SEC tourney odds are:
KY 2.8 to 1
Candy 6 to 1
Fla 7 to 1
TN 15 to 1

Does UK have longer odds to Winn the SEC than the NCAA? Last time I looked they were 9-5 to win it all.

I deal with the largest offshore books in the world and you can not wager yet. There is one garbage offshore book that will allow small minimums on the NCAA tourney currently. I would not trust my money there. LOL

You are correct UT is 500 to 1
Yes KY is 9 to 5 on the site.

That doesn't mean you can't use a bookie and you can't go to Vegas...

Also, sportsbook.com is one of the bigger online betting sites and they are taking bets on it.

Here ya go: http://www.sportsbook.ag/livesports/indexmember.php

I am familiar with sportsbook. You are very lucky if you got paid. They are very slow payers or don't pay at all. I do this for a living so I keep my money at the largest and safest offshore books in the world. There are much better options than that book. Be careful with them.

I had a 5k payout from the Super Bowl and saw it in a week.

Maybe I was lucky.

I prefer using a bookie now though, and that's usually my preferred choice.
