Who in your opinion was the best college football announcer on TV? On radio? What was the most exciting games you've seen on TV or ever been to?
Rate the top 5 most exciting NCAA football games you've seen?
Where do you rank Brent Musberger and Keith Jackson?

I'd take Jackson over Musberger any time. Keith Jackson with Frank Broyles back in the day were the two best on tv, have yet to see another duo that could touch them IMO. Radio, fuggedabout it, John Ward.

During my lifetime, I've liked most everyone who was on an "A" crew.

Ron Franklin, Brad Nessler, Brent Musberger, Keith Jackson, Sean McDonough, Verne Lundquist (yes, I liked Verne).

Wasn't a fan of Jim Nantz.

I always liked Gary Danielson going back to his time at ESPN. I like Blackledge. I liked Dick Vermeil when he was with ABC. I liked Mike Gottfried. I thought David Pollack was good as a color guy and like McElroy as well. Wasn't a fan of Bob Griese.

The problem most people have is they are convinced the announcers hate their team and have a bias. I am convinced so many people on this site don't like Verne is because for the most part during the time Verne was at CBS, Tennessee lost on CBS.

It's not surprising to like Verne, he had a charm about him but Gary Danielson? Yikes

I can't speak for anyone else, but I didn't like Verne Lundquist's cadence. The way he would slur words and then go to a long pause. For example: "Ainge going long for Meacham .... IIIIn-com-plete... third down." Most of his calls sounded the same, with too many long pauses within the same sentence.

I would rate Ron Franklin the best. Mike Patrick, also of ESPN was good too. I also like Sean McDonough. I hated Verne.

Sean McDonough call in that 98 Arkansas game was my favorite --- Stoerner ... lost the football and Billy Ratliff recovers

I think Gary Danielson is a lot like Bill Rafftery. When they actually break down the game they’re very good, it’s when they get sidetracked and start talking about nonsensical stuff that I want to turn off the tv.

I enjoyed listening to Keith Jackson! Some of the best games I saw on TV were the game where Doug Flutie threw the game winning TD; UT's 3 wins in 1998 against Syracuse, Florida and Arkansas.

I'd rather listen to a game with the sound 'off' than hear Mushburglar. Years ago LSU had a great radio guy- John Ferguson. Listened on a barely audible 'clear channel' station after bedtime many a Sat. nite.

Also called The Miracle on Techwood & "WOAH HE HAS TROUBLE WITH THE SNAP" and in all three of those games his voice cracked on big plays

Brad Nessler was really good on ESPN with Todd Blackledge. That team needs to be reunited on CBS. Gary Danielson needs to be demoted to the Big 10 Network.

Of course you like Uncle Verne. He was a Tebow groupie. Im convinced he would leave his wife for Timmy.
