Who was y’all’s favorite actor that played James Bond who you thought played him the best ? For me it’s Roger Moore I grew up as a kid watching his movies the most so I guess he resonated with me as the definitive 007. A close second would be Pierce Brosnan.

I recently bought the entire James Bond collection on Blu-ray and have been watching them all. Next up is A view to a kill.

It's so difficult to adjust for time and camp level. I remember growing up and liking Moore and some of the movies but hell's bells there was one (Octopussy?) where he was swinging through trees and they put the Tarzan yell over it. It's got a bit of that comparing athletes from different eras...it's tough. How much do you factor in the role vs the actor?

It's hard to not cite Connery's OG portrayal as too iconic and lasting to not give top billing but Craig's portrayal really worked for me personally. (though not nearly as "fun" as previous examples)

Moores movies were a lot of fun if you enjoyed the cheesiness of it,and liked them for what they were. Connery is hard beat on Goldfinger alone. I loved the old school classic Bond villains. Outside of Goldeneye, Brosnan had some decent movies ,but nothing like the classic Goldeneye. If I had to choose ,it would be Craig. I liked Skyfall a lot more than Casino Royale for some reason. No Time to Die was actually really good. Interesting way they took that with the ending.Looking forward to who they go with moving forward.

My experience with Bond was being an 80's and 90's kid who saw the old ones on TBS all the time. When I watch the Roger Moore ones now, I'm blown away by how corny the action is. I thought it was so cool at the time. The movies are still fun but I'm laughing at it.

And in hindsight, I'll never understand the Moore and Brosnan choices...they aren't action stars...at all.

Connery is perfect, tho. Craig is perfect. Dalton is solid.

Yeah, I feel like I went through a lifetime waiting for a replacement for Connery. Craig is it.

Roger Moore is my favorite one the most cool the most suave especially with the women, but yea I will admit some of his movies are the cheesiest ones of the bond films. He also was a little too old when he did Octopussy and A View to a Kill and it showed you can see his stuntman easily in both movies just doing basic fights and stuff. His two best movies imo is The spy who loved me and Live and Let Die.

He was the most realistic one.

Not that I disagree, but IMO Craig fits the Fleming book character the closest. Dalton was underrated though. Apparently he wasn’t very happy being Bond. He was the second choice after Brosnan but Brosnan couldn’t get out of his Remington Steele contract so he had to wait until Goldeneye.

I’m probably most nostalgic about Brosnan because he was Bond during my formative years and as dumb as it sounds, the video game was huge for me and my friends. But, I also think Brosnan made two of the worst films - Die Another Day and The World is Not Enough - in the entire franchise.

Connery and Craig were the best by far IMO.
Roger Moore did his best with some bad movies - Moon Raker and a View to a Kill are really bad. Liked The Man with the Golden Gun and For Your Eyes only.

A good non Bond Movie with Roger Moore is Ffolkes.

His only good Bond film was Goldeneye…. And the video game was awesome

I was a much bigger fan of the Roger Moore and Sean Connery movies than anything else, but it's Daniel Craig.
It's a matter of personal taste, but I think he is too dry.

In my opinion, Sean Connery was the coolest, but Roger Moore had the best blend of humor/sense of comedic timing. He humanized the role, and made the character less of a superhero. It worked. However, Moonraker is the dumbest Bond film ever ... by a mile.
