Houston is a growing market and will be in the P5 soon. They have invested a ton into the program. SMU has done some work in the program recently too. They may get there sooner rather than later, especially if they keep investing. Houston and SMU may be regulars in the top 25 in the years to come, especially if TTU, UT and TCU remain down.I imagine lots of people do.
Patterson refuses to hit the transfer portal and it has TCU fans pissed off. Sonny Dykes has made the portal his friend and his efforts are showing results. There are lots of former 4* and 5* Metroplex players looking to return home for whatever the reasons may be. Dykes would be nuts to take the Tech job if SMU can "pony up" the money to keep him in University Park. There's a reason for SMU rebranding as Dallas's team and it's working.Houston is a growing market and will be in the P5 soon. They have invested a ton into the program.
