don't know how this affects your argument, but Lloyd Carr spent the first ten years of his life in TN. John Cooper is a Powell kid.

i will also add that Jim Tressel and Bob Stoops are from Ohio. Ohio is not in Tennessee

1. Spurrier
2. Brown3. ?

make your arguements

Raised in TN that is

I think you could make the arguement for Fulmer over Brown. Before VY got there, Brown blew every big game he coached in and now that Vince isn't there he will continue to lose to Oklahoma and Bob Stoops.

That Quarles (sp?) guy at Maryville must be pretty good.

Steve Spurrier - 1 NC
Phillip Fulmer - 1NC
Johnny Majors - 1NC
Lloyd Carr - 1NC

No particular order. We've had some good coaches from the Volunteer State.

This is MODERN coaches, right?? I agree with your list of recents and would just add Cooper bringing up the rear.

But could have CPF survived North Carolina, Pitt, Duke etc.....those guys earned their reps....while Phil simply transitioned into his....not a knock but he did have the easiest path to sucess.
