ESPN isn't renewing the contracts of Jon Miller or Joe Morgan. I know there are a lot of Reds fans up in this place (and Morgan actually closed out his career as an A), but Morgan is atrocious behind the mic. He makes up stories, can't figure out pitches even in slo-mo, and just loves to talk about himself all the time. I'm ecstatic to see him gone. I also think Orel is a solid color guy. Bring on spring!

They're out! Joe Morgan and Jon Miller nixed from ESPN Sundays - Big League Stew - MLB - Yahoo! Sports

Glad to gear this. Joe is a big fan of himself and his accomplishments. It will be nice to have our attention focused on the game being played.

His broadcast career has been completely inexplicable. He's just not that good. He's always sounded to me like someone that just got on the air for the first time.

Great news. Both were horrid. But Joe took it to a whole new level of suck.

Joe Morgan would rather talk about Joe Morgan than baseball...He is a self absorbed idiot. Hope he stays unemployed.

Now if someone can find a way to end Tim McCarver's career I would be ecstatic.

I don't watch baseball, but his voice on sunday nights in the summer sounded like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Didn't know this many people disliked the guy. I actually like Joe Morgan and think he did a great job, but now I'm interested to see who they replace them with.

This is really the first I've heard of so many people disliking them, just news to me is all. BTW I despise country music.

"These are what we call a "How are you feeling" visits. When a Manager comes out to the mound, he's going to ask the pitcher "how are you feeling", and thats why we call them that."

-McCarver on Ron Washington's visit with Lee in the last game of the Series this year.

there used to be a website dedicated to his ineptness. FIRE JOE MORGAN
enjoy!

Actually it was dedicated to awful announcing period, not just Morgan. He was just the epitome of all announcing gone bad. The guys many times said they had nothing against him personally.

That said, thank God he's gone.
