Can't be in Gainesville this weekend. Going to Memphis for the PJPII vs ECS game on friday night. Also have to go to a soccer tournament on saturday. Need to know the best place to hang out with local Vols in Memphis. Also need to know the radio station that carries Big Orange Football. Thanks for your help.

I watched the UAB game at Buffalo Wild Wings. Everybody told me Fox and Hound, but i must have gone to the wrong one because the only people inside were some Oklahoma fan club or something. If I didn't have family coming in from out of town I would host a party, but alas i do.

When my cable was broken a while back I went to Neils (corner of Madison & McLean). Not a sports bar, and not necessarily a Vol hangout, but it has 2 big screen t.v.s, 1 small one, and, basically reason #1 for me at the time: it was near my place in Midtown.

Ironically, just 5 seconds after I started this reply, the Channel 5 news (located in Midtown) chose the Fox & Hound as the place to film a bit on relocated Saints fans following their team. Kind've suggests AB got good advice, and just happened to arrive on a weekend when there was a special deal for Later fans.

Since the UT vs belly-crawling-reptile game will be about the biggest game going anywhere this Saturday, though, I'm thinking whichever sports bar you hit is going to be A. showing the game; and, B. full of at least bandwagon Vol fans.

My advice is to call the Tennessee Sports Zone (901) 753-8657 which is located out on the East (rich) edge of Memphis in Germantown, ask for the manager/ owner, and ask them for info on Vol football parties.

Sorry I can't be more help- especially embarrassing given my handle- but I've never had to think about it. Except for those 2 fluke Neils' visits, the only times I'm not bouncing off my own walls during a UT game is when I'm either in Neyland or at my Dad & Infamous Stepmother's*

*You know the old adage about how fewer women than men are college football fans, but the ones that are are scarier? It's really, really, REALLY true.

The best Fox & Hound in Memphis is the one at Germantown Parkway and Fisher Steel Rd. in Cordova. The Vol network is on AM 600. Bama Vol must have gone to the one on Sanderlin. Cordova is full of Volunteers.....

Jeez, Ken- I actually checked the Alumni website and didn't find a Memphis listing.

Now I really am embarrassed.

The Alumni website is not very well designed. :mf_surrender:

Sorry for the double post. Don't see a way to delete it.

I thought that is the one I went to, the one by the old BOGEYS. I walked in the day of the UAB game and like i said it was full of Oklahoma folks and the hostess said "EEEEW we don't like orange here" i know she was joking but since i had on the only orange in the building i felt i would just go somewhere else. If i get a chance i will come down this weekend if i can tear away from my "guests."

We always went to the F&H to watch the games (if we weren't at the apartment) during med school and were always well taken care of. There should be PLENTY of Orange on Saturday night to go around. The Tennessee SportsZone store is only about a mile away and actually has a pretty nice selection of UT gear to be 5 1/2 hours from God's Country.

That's right about the Tennessee Sports Zone. They are havin' a Gator Hater party Friday from 3:00 til 8:00. It's at the corner of Dexter and Germantown Parkway..
