I think with how Tillman and Hyatt are showing out with their NFL teams coupled with McCoy,Thornton, White and Keyton the argument that we have the best WR room can be made. Now the incoming talent this past and current recruiting classes we should be WR U. Love these orange tinted glasses I bought from the Heup Store GBO!!

WR U is based off of players you put in the league. We still have work to do

I do think there is a good point to be made here that with McCoy, Thornton, White and Keyton in the mix this year, we still have a very strong receiver core and it will be a force to be reckoned with. Several of those guys had huge plays last season and we should expect the same this year. My gut tells me that if Milton plays well and injuries are not a factor, Vols should be able to put up passing yards comparable to last season.

I don't know if Keyton will make it in the NFL, but I do expect the other 3 currently on the roster to make it. So to me that seems to be at least 5 WRs in the NFL in a3 year span (squirrel can't go this year anyway). Keyton could make, plus anyone else we develop our transfers here etc. could push that number higher.

Keyton is one of the most complete receivers in the conference. He'll be on an nfl roster week 1.

He's the most productive receiver I've ever seen yet so little love from fans and media. QBs sure love him. Solid as a rock.
There's a lot of very good WRs in college that never make it to the NFL. Jayson Swain, Lucas Taylor, Gerald Jones, Marquez North, Zach Rogers, Austin Rogers, Josh Smith, and Von Pearson never even played a game in the NFL. There's been a lot of good college players that haven't made it the NFL. He'll certainly be on a training camp roster, even might be drafted, but who knows on that. Even if he doesn't make an NFL roster, doesn't mean I don't like him or think he's a good college player.

It is my HOPE that Joe's arm will create more space in the short zones due to the defenders having to play deeper because of his ability to throw mid range and VERY deep balls with accuracy.

There were four receivers in this conference last year with the following stats: 12+games played, 30+ receptions, 18.0+ per catch avg, 5+ TDs. One of them will be playing for the Giants on Sunday, and one is Remel Keyton. Tennessee had one of the deepest groups in the country, and He was a big part if it.

He’s not at the level of some on that list, but if you don’t think ZRo would cook in this offense, you must not have paid much attention to what he did in 2012 or to what this coaching staff has gotten out of receivers in the last 2 years.

Ohio State has the title above us for now. With Huepel at the helm, though, I have a feeling that we’ll be in the conversation.

I think you are a victim of lazy media reporting. I've noticed that many, many sports outlets only repeat what other reporters have published. Rarely will you find an article or video where they have actually done their homework. They just hype the same guys without actually seeing where Keyton actually is in terms of production. THE KID DIDN'T PLAY IN SEVERAL GAMES AND OTHERS, HE SHARED TIME WITH TILLMAN. At the same time, he was 3rd behind day-one starters Hyatt and McCoy in yardage. Keyton had 568, only 99 yards behind 2nd McCoy's 667. He was 2nd in touchdowns behind Hyatt's 15. He was 2nd behind Hyatt's 18.9 yards per catch with 17.8. He was able to put up these numbers while being the team's 4th most targeted receiver. You rarely see a reporter go this deeply, so it's really easy to ignore the kid. He's on the field for a reason.

Patience! I think it is evident by the way we have recruited WRs since Huepel has been here that potential recruits see us as a top destination to play receiver. That is all that matter. In time the results will speak for themselves as to whether or not our players transition into the league well. But right now its far too early.

Marquez North got a lot of mileage out of ONE epic catch imo. Nothing else from his career qualifies him as even “very good in college.” He was injured a lot and there was bad development under Butch, but talent usually manifests itself.
