Did you see the making of the movie. Man were they hitting hard. that was some nasty stuff. I loved it, but hey, I love all sports movies.

what makes a movie like that good is how authentic it looks. When you see NFL type players playing in a high school game, it ruins it.

But that is how big the other team really was. I saw a picture of them, they were huge.

maybe so..but its not only size. NO high school plays the way they did. If so, where are they in college.

i think it was 13 of them got d-1 schollys. thats not to bad, if i would say so myself.

thats not what i meant. what im saying is that if they were so great, where was the national attention. how come those players arent the best players in college. at least one of them should be if they were really that good.

In reality, the 1988 Permian High School Panthers lost to Dallas-Carter in the state semi-finals, not the state finals. Carter did go on to win the state championship, but was later forced to forfeit its entire season when it was discovered that an academically ineligible player had been allowed to play after his grades were changed.

Jessie Armstead and Derric Evans were on that dallas carter team


And oh by the way, jessie armstead had a pretty good carrer in the nfl.

And who is derric Evans you may ask?

go check it out, he went to tennessee playing SS.

so i guess there were some good players on there. I will get the rest to you in a little while. just trying to prove a point here.

love where this topic is heading..... :shakehead: anyway i voted field of dreams. it's a little strange but it's really likeable. it was on tv today. as for friday night lights, i saw it. it didn't live up to expectations. it was ok i guess but not great.

Caddy Shack, any movie with bill murray, rodney dangerfield , and a gopher in it is a classic

I want to see the new longest yard remake. It looks pretty good.

The previews look pretty good, but it'll be tough to improve on the original.
