This shouldn't change TEnnessee's status, I do not think Norfolk St will get in now, but their spot will go to Bethune...

1. I don't feel bad at all. Schedule a tougher OOC slate and either a. They'd have lost more or B. they'd be dancing regardless.

And...

2. No this will not steal a bid from Tennessee, that's a 1 bid league, not even close.

I feel bad for them. Not because it's some risk to Tennessee, but because they were deserving of that spot in the tournament. I've said it countless times: lower conferences should eliminate the conference tournaments. They should opt for a model like the Ivy league, where the regular season conference champion receives the automatic bid. This, however, won't happen because of $$.

Undoubtedly, Norfolk St., MTSU, or [insert any conference champion here] was the best team for their conference all season. I mean Norfolk & MTSU were a combined 38-1 in conference play. They were far and away the best teams in their conference this year. From December to March. But, a team gets hot for 3-4 days and wins the conference tournament and takes their bid away. It sucks. I know the normal response will be "well win your conference tournament," but that can be a challenging thing to do. So, I do think it sucks, and I feel bad for them.

Further, it doesn't represent the conference in the proper light because they won't have their best team in the NCAA. It's not a true representation of the conference's abilities.

Just my .02.

I agree about the lower conferences should do away with the conference tournaments.

Heck I also think they should cut out some teams from the SECT. The bottom 2-4 teams shouldn't even get to play.
