Betting the Farm?

I don't bet - see last week's Alabama game as an example. Or our game against Florida.

One thing about the spread is than no coach plays to cover the spread. So If you bet Tennesse and we're down 6 points late in the 4th you're sitting pretty except that we'll be going for it all 4th downs deep in our own territory and will throw into coverage because it's 4th down and those are the situations where you make the play ot give up a pick six.

Absolutely. Used to bet on NFL games and your scenario played out a lot and I lost.

So for you gamblers, what are your thoughts on + 7.5?
Never bet your heart and never, ever bet the UT/Bama game. Of course, for some, this will be like your parents telling you NOT to stick the fork in the electrical outlet. You hear but you don't hear and you promptly stick the damned fork in the outlet and get exactly what you deserve.

I've got a small amount on the initial spread, but that's only my heart not my head in it. We've lost 15 in a row. 15.

Repeat. 15.

So odds are we'll lose. Again, this is my brain speaking, not my heart.

BUT...

(1) Better bets are on our 1st quarter and 1st half scoring. We tend to come out of the chute scoring well. IIRC we were the #1 scoring offense in Q1 last season, and we still are doing it (except FL, lost $ on that). If you use Bovada, you can make these types of bets in advance of the game.

(2) Also, on a game like this, we usually can't run well against Bama (who can?), so we'll be forced to pass alot. Especially if we get behind. Look (and bet) for Hooker to pass for 300+ yards. Honestly, 375 yards is possible if he goes crazy.

(3) Lastly, if you feel compelled to bet on the spread or the moneyline, wait until the game is underway. The odds change during the game on Bovada, so if we start getting pummeled, you can get much better odds on both the spread and moneyline.

Good luck bro.

All dynasties come to an end eventually. Hopefully, the Vols end this bama dominance on Saturday. VOLS win by five. Fug that spread. BTW, I have never gambled before. GBO!!!

Bet the farm. Cash in the kid's college fund. Liquidate your retirement. Borrow as much as possible and put it on...

...low fee index funds.

... break your kids' piggy banks. Sell your wife's handbags on Ebay. Do a reverse mortgage on your house.

Of course we gonna beat Bama, I mean come on!
