Offense

Basket attacks: 31
Bad shots: 23
Open shots: 24
Shots off screens: 2
Points off cuts: 4
Post up shots: 4
Putback points: 4
Offensive Possessions: 65

Defense

Post shots: 9
Contested shots: 24
Open shots: 25
Forced TO's: 8
Shots taken under 10 seconds in shot clock: 2
Putback points given up: 2
Altered/Block Shots: 5
Open 3's given up: 11

Three things:

1. You can't give up a good shot for every bad shot forced. That's just not good defense.

2. Too much isolation on offense. We just did not screen or cut to the basket.

3. They got eleven open three. For a good shooting team like Duke, that can't happen.

I think your bad shots category is pretty inflated in this one. I also think your open shots category in the defensive breakdown is inflated. There's no way they had 25 open shots.

I agree with lawvol on this one. If they had 25 open shots they would've beaten us by much more than they did. And I don't know what you determine "bad shots" it just seems to vague, maybe if you explained your criteria we could understand it better.

Yeah, Duke had a lot lower open shots.

Also, im surprised Duke had so many possessions.

Does the term "bad shot" include shots that may have seemed ill-advised, yet still went in?

Duke made shots with hands in their face. just because it went in, it isnt an open shot
