Glad to see Derrike Cope is having high expectations of the race.

Gateway 250
July 18, 2007 - Derrike told us, "I will be driving a backup car #49 for Jay Robinson Racing this weekend in St. Louis. The plan is just to do a start and park and be there to assist Robert Richardson in any way I can throughout practice, qualifying, and the race.

"I will provide an update after qualifying and provide any other information at that time."

That's all he and several others have done for several years. They did it in the Cup Series when there was only about 35-38 big teams/cars.

Edwards is struggling so far in practice. This is Scott Wimmers week. He's lost so many races late this year, but this is his week.

Jason Leffler paces the field for the first practice. A guy to watch Landon Cassil was 4th.

Reutiman wins second practice

As I thought, Wimmer gets the pole. Also the other guy that I think will turn a few heads tonight Landon Cassill is starting 6th. Travis Kittleson starts 23rd.

And no surprise, Steven Wallace puts it in the wall. At least we don't have to worry about him for the rest of the race.

It looks like to make up for no Montoya they've put Todd Bodine in a car. They'll do anything to make more cautions in a race.

Thanks Nascar, they throw a bs yellow right in the middle of a long run. It's crap like this that makes Nascar a joke. It's not fair for Sorenson who's dominating a race that they throw a competition caution for him. By the way halfway through the race Cassill is running 4th, he's going to be something.
