International Crisis:

ABC News' Matthew Jaffe Reports: Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., on Sunday guaranteed that if elected, Sen. Barack Obama., D-Ill., will be tested by an international crisis within his first six months in power and he will need supporters to stand by him as he makes tough, and possibly unpopular, decisions.

"Mark my words," the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. "It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

"I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate," Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. "And he's gonna need help. And the kind of help he's gonna need is, he's gonna need you - not financially to help him - we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right."

Political Radar: Biden to Supporters: "Gird Your Loins", For the Next President "It's Like Cleaning Augean Stables"

I'm wondering what these two have planned that's going to be so wildly unpopular with the American public (as he hints at later in the interview).

obama will turn over the country to Raul Castro. many pundits will find Castro's policies more democratic than obama's.

This is the kind of stuff the 9/11 truther-type has a field day with - clearly this crisis will be created by Obama for political gain blah blah blah

Just remember, stick with them because it is not going to intially make any sense how he handles it. Well, that is a small request and very reassuring.

prelude to some stupidity. Very nice. I bet the entire Obama campaign called the idiot and told him to stop talking.

People love the idea of Obama and change, but the reality of a crisis with a pacifist at the helm has to be scary.

Yea, nothing like the ole "we look stupid but we promise are not" kind of people. I have good feelings about this administration.

If you're listening closely, it appears it's a prelude to the exact opposite of what we'd expect from Obama. That's just my initial thought. Perhaps a strike on Iran by Israel in which Obama admin gives tacit approval? You might not think Obama's a hawk, but he's no pacifist either.

Went to McCain rally in KC today. Graham took this quote and used it to McCain's advantage. Not the best of moves by Biden.

oh, please. While it's true that democrats are responsible for the US involvement in wars that have killed over 600 thousand Americans, I don't see Obama as having the stones to stand up to someone like Putin, the Chinese or even the Iranians.

Interesting - so basically, he'll be taking the type of foreign policy stance that he's been criticizing through out the campaign. Beautiful.

How on earth do you know?

You have no idea. Sounds like he's saying we're going to ignore the Israelis.

He says he will staunchly defend Israel if need be. You're right. I don't know. Just going by what he says. But if he does carryout an attack on Iran (or some other other country), I'm sure he'll have the full support of all the hawks on this board.

he drops the hammer on the Iranians and he will have my unequivocal support. He plays hardball with Putin, I'll support him more as a president.

He continues down the road to UHC, I'll hate every second of it. He continues this talk of taxing only the wealthy, I'll hate every second of it. He keeps talking redistribution, I'll hate every second of it. Etc, etc, etc....ad nauseum.

Where is the "wildly unpopular" citation?

Besides, I thought that after this administration and the claims of McCain/Palin being mavericks and sticking to their guns on things even when not popular, Republicans would be the first to congratulate Obama for the claim that he would be doing something principled.

Guess all that only applies if you have an (R) next to your name.

I said hints at.

But he's gonna need your help. Because I promise you, you all are gonna be sitting here a year from now going, 'Oh my God, why are they there in the polls? Why is the polling so down? Why is this thing so tough?' We're gonna have to make some incredibly tough decisions in the first two years. So I'm asking you now, I'm asking you now, be prepared to stick with us. Remember the faith you had at this point because you're going to have to reinforce us."

Hmmm...a fragile economy mixed with a looming crisis. You "changers" remember that when you push the button for the junior senator from Illinois. Some innocent little country is going to get rubbed out thanks to you all.

He is as hawkish as he is honest.

I would like to ask the Obama supporters a question. Did Biden join forces with Obama and then realize how dangerous this guy is? Is that why Biden is trying to throw the election?
