With Donny staring down his third indictment, and perhaps a fourth in Georgia, who's still checking the orange man box on the 2024 ballot if the choice is Donny or Dark Brandon?

Today, I'd say it's Biden's to lose. I think he's a buffoon, but people dismiss how hard it is for a sitting President to lose.

Something bad has to happen and it typically has to happen late in their term.

Trump had Covid.
H.W. Bush had a rapid recession come out of nowhere with double digit unemployment....if memory serves, the recession was over before Clinton even took office.
Carter....gas shortages, hostage fiasco and inflation/massive interest rate spikes.
Hoover.....the Great Depression.

That's it, in the last 100 years we've had 4 elected Presidents that have lost their bid for re-election.

Biden will be the nominee if he isn’t it’s probably newsome

Biden will have no serious opposition in the primaries then (pick a reason) step aside right before the convention. That keeps the Dem candidate from being exposed to questions or policy explanations during the primaries.

Not really because it will be sold as "for the good of the country" after Biden steps aside soon after the primaries are done.
If she does run, then no GOP candidate (Trump included) has a chance imo.
