The popular choice is Notre Dame but they have turned down the offer many of times and likely wouldn't want to lose thier tv deal with NBC. Early reports have Syracuse and Rutgers as possiable choices. I don't see 'Cuse wanting to leave the Big East. I think Missouri,Iowa State,Cincinnati and even Louisville make better options.

Iowa State seems to be the most sensible, but somebody will probably end up leaving the Big East. Probably Pittsburgh.

There are 4 that make sense to me: Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Iowa State, and Mizzou. Rutgers and the Cuse are not even in the midwest so that would just be dumb. Also dumb would be Colorado, what is Mark May thinking? If Mizzou or Iowa State leave the big 12, who would replace them becaus they would have to be replaced if the Big 12 wants to continue theie conference title game.

I couldn't believe Mark May said Colorado...that's dumb even by his low standards....why not invite UCLA or Hawaii?

The better question is will it stay the Big 10 who leaves out PSU and the new guys or becomes the Big 10+2

One o our dispatchers is a Louisville season ticket holder and the word is they are interested also. They want to become know for a top tier football program but feel they get no respect in the weak Big East.

They wouldn't get any respect as Michigan and Ohio State's whipping boy to the south, either.

and who should the other team's conference pick up in place of the team that goes to the Big 10?

I say they should take Iowa State and then move Oklahoma to the Big 12 North and put TCU in the Big 12 South.

others?

I think Pittsburgh would be a good fit.

Also, if a team left the Big 12, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to get Arkansas.

Rutgers and Cuse are possible options that the Little 11 would be interested in, because they can broaden out to the east coast. Expansion, expansion, expansion. Need much pub. as possible, especially with their new TV network.

Mark May actually said something I agree with wholeheartedly today. If Notre Dame wins seven games, Charlie Weis is the coach of the year.

If the Big 12 took Arky, who would replace them in the mighty SEC?

It quickly becomes a very short list when you start considering schools based on location, current conference affiliation, and ability to compete.

Memphis
Louisville
Georgia Tech*
Clemson*
NC State*
Wake Forest*
Southern Miss

*=Would move Vandy to SEC West

Word up, RT. I think we all know Notre Dame would be a more than perfect fit to join the Big Ten. It's right in the middle of the region, they play half the conference every year anyways, and it would mean big bucks. However, it will never happen in a million years. ND will continue to sit pretty and have the BCS continue to throw money and major bowl bids their way (without even earning it) for no reason.
