:good: Nashville newspaper, The Tennessean, is reporting an agreement has been reached in principle on a new contract for Tennessee Coach Phillip Fulmer that will make him the third highest-paid coach in college football next year behind Oklahoma's Bob Stoops and Texas' Mack Brown.

The new seven-year deal still needs final approval from the UT Board of Trustees, but the total financial package will average out to just under $2.1 million per year.

How can Mack Brown make more than CPF? How many championships does Mack have on his resume? Phill deserves every penny! :good:

Everything's bigger in Texas.

I'm one that believes that Coaches and professional athletes are worth every penny they can convince somebody to pay them.

So how long is his contract? His current one has him until 2010.

Like Mack Brown is bad? He's looking at five straight 10-win seasons. That sounds like a pretty damned good coach to me.

Has Brown beaten the Sooners since he has been at Texas?

Who cares how much Phil gets? I want to know if Chavis and Trooper are getting there much more deserved raises to make sure their loyalty doesn't decide to waiver. We should think more about those guys and how to ensure we keep them.
I am not a Sanders-hater, but I say wait until he shows me what he can do with next years offense. We have the players to have an offense as prolific as one of Spurriers Florida teams of the 90's. If Sander's will keep up what he started in the Cotton Bowl, maybe he will turn out to be better than some think. If he can't do it next year, I may start to agree with the nay-sayers.

I think Sanders has came a long way since he took over in the NC game in 98'. His best two games coordinating our offense came in bowl games in my opinion!

Ive been wanting to give him the axe a few times but I believe he runs our offense the way Phil wants him to.....
