I noticed a dive at his knees and he wasn't in after that play anymore

I saw the same dive at his knee, and he did come back in after that for a few plays in a later series. I'm sure the coaches didn't need to play him too much...that said, I made it a point to watch him. When he was in the game, he was either double teamed or slicing right through the middle and forcing the QB to scramble. Teams will have to roll their QB out of the pocket to keep them safe from Big Dan.

The TV folks said he was out some because of pass rush situations. I know he is not the fastest but he looked like he was putting pressure on the QB and I would think he could bull doze himself back there enough to disrupt the QB at a minimum.
