I’ve never attended a Big Orange Caravan stop but thinking about driving to the Chattanooga stop from north Metro Atlanta with my 14 year old son. Is it worth the effort?

I’ve been. if you follow the Vols closely on sites like this one, you don’t get a ton of new information.
But it’s kind of fun being around other Vols and hearing the three coaches (football, men’sb, lvs) talk about their teams.

I miss the golf tournament with all the coaches and support personnel participating that was held just prior to the coach’s speeches at the chosen golf course. The event is still fun especially hearing the coaches tell stories and rag on each other. It’s worth it.

It is very worthwhile, especially if you follow every sport. Back in the day you had a very good chance of meeting lots of local VOLS sports alumni at the Caravan.
I used to attend and it was always worth it, but was often less fun because of the sense the football team was not competitive. I didn't spend nearly as much money on going to games and doing the these special events after Dooley's 2nd season. I am actually going to Neyland for the first time in a while. We are going to the UGA and USCe games this season.
I've never been to the Caravan when there was so much excitement around all our programs. It would be a blast going forward.

Having a meeting in Downtown Memphis is like going into a WAR zone. A friend said a car is stolen in Memphis every 34 minutes.

I went one year in Chattanooga when it was Butch Jones and Rick Barnes. They had an autograph signing. Think it was like $50 a plate maybe. Barnes is on my wall and Butch is in a drawer somewhere

Wish they would hit a regional cities like Jackson, TN. I'd pay $40 per ticket to not drive to Memphis or Nashville on a weeknight.

[Don't do it, Woodsman, don't do it!!!]
You know, there are short range municipal planes and helicopters to let you avoid driving.
[Dang it, Woody, you never listen to me!!!]

It would not be a bad idea if the caravan added some future stops in the Carolinas because those are prime recruiting areas for all the major sports.

The wife and I went to the Tri-Cities one last year and had a lot of fun. We were able to meet and have our picture made with Harper, Barnes, and Heupel.

Not sure how it would be at one of the larger stops. Seemed like anyone that wanted was able to meet each coach there and get things signed. Were probably only a few 100 there though.
