Big threat back?

Hubbs said today he could see Tennessee taking another running back in this class. Considering Oku has been disappointing so far and Tom Smith isn't a breakaway guy, the Vols really don't have a home run threat and might take one more back if the right one came along. Any ideas of prospects Tennessee is considering that may fit this mold?

I think we will be in Kenny Hilliard's ear up until signing day. I don't think Seymour or Buie is a take.

I think we will end up with Smith and call it a day with the RBs in the next two classes that we figure to be a big player for.

Only way I see them taking another RB is if it's a big time RB (i.e Crowell, Blakely, ect..)

IMO we will take Smith & Young & wait until next years class to add 2 more RBs.

I've never liked the sound of that. We don't know what's going to happen next year.

True LV, but what do you think the chances are we land one of those guys....I don't think they are all that great

Not great, but we are in Coe's and Hill's top 3. Coe isn't really looking at powerhouse teams so we may have a shot there. And I've always felt like Hill will not sign with LSU.

Signing Rodney Coe would be amazing. He's not the "scat back" type everyone wants so badly, just a beast of a RB.

FWIW, word around here is that Auburn wants Blakely and Buck Allen as their RBs and Coe as a LB. Don't know how that might affect his final group.

We need a back that can take it to the house on kick off return, i think oku has came close to returning a few but he doesnt have the break away speed. In my opinion, we need somebody that can take one to the house on kick return more than we need another back. I like the running backs we have now.

He reminds me of Anthony Barr from last years class, cuz he can play LB or RB.... I would love for us to get him because of that versatility, and I think he would be a monster between the tackles..

Are we looking at the Knoxville RB's for next years class at all? Mobley from Powell, or Blance from Webb. I don't know what the staff's opinion on those guys is. Are they d-1 material?

We need SPEED. Not sure these guys are fast enough.

Mobley is the real deal. When Caleb Blance was a frosh I thought he would be a legit D-1 prospect. But he never grew. And although he's good, he never really seemed to improve that much. Just stayed as a good solid 1,000yd rusher. Now his little brother is tough, perhaps better than Caleb IMO. Plus, I think both of them are in NEXT yrs class. I know Mobley is.

Mobley is a darn good back. It's really hard to tell how fast he is. He never looks like he's trying hard, but he never gets caught. To me, that's the sign of a really good, perhaps great player, making it look easy. Plus, Mobley is in NEXT yrs class.
