Big Wave Surfing

Good stuff - I used to love ESPN's Tuesday night surfing coverage about 10 years or so ago.

If you haven't watched Endless Summer - it is a must rental. There's another good old one called Big Wednesday I believe.

Watched "Riding Giants" last night on Discovery. Interesting documentary on the history of riding giant waves. Greg Nolls (one of the old timers) is a great interview. He was a pioneer at Waimea Bay (sp?). Ends with "tow surfing" with Laird Hamilton in Tahiti (clip attached in first post of this thread). There's a story about the guy who started riding a break off N. Cal (Half moon Bay) which is pretty unreal as well. Watch it if you get the chance.

Yeah, just watched it last night as well. Laird Hamilton is insane. My dad was a surfer in Hermosa back in the 60's, he got a kick out of watching footage of all his old heroes.

I watched it on Discovery HD On Demand, btw, on Comcast.
