There are a number of nonconference road games this week where the SEC can boost its profile with a win. LSU getting absolutely murdered at X tonight doesn't help. Arkansas at Baylor and South Carolina traveling to BC tomorrow night are the kind of games the league could certainly use in the win column. Tennessee-Memphis will have a national audience. We'll find out a good bit about the strength of the conference in the next couple of days.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't think we are going to like what we see in regards to our conference strength.

I'm not very optimistic about our chances against Memphis. I can't get over the game they played against Kansas. You can't be soft and be that close to a team like that. I suppose we'll find that out as well in the near future.
Hoping for the best, though. My wife, a native Memphian, always gets pissed when I root against her team (even though we met at UT) :) She's gonna have to get used to it Thursday.

So much for the preseason hype about the SEC returning to power in men's BB this year. I will be surprised if a team besides Kentucky makes it to the Sweet 16.

I don't see it going very well this week for the SEC. The conference has two teams that could make a little noise in the tourney and a few others that potentially could be good. Really it is a weak conference overall.

South Carolina just spent the first half looking as if they had never seen a basketball prior to arriving in Boston.

Up to UT and Miss St. to save face for the SEC today. San Diego may very well be Miss State's toughest road game so far. I think it's safe to say the SEC will probably get 2-3 teams in the tourney again this year. Maybe 4 if someone pulls of a UGA or MIss St. in the SEC tourney.
