They’ve not done a good job matching up teams the last couple years.

LSU at Oklahoma, Texas at Tennessee, Iowa State at Alabama, Kansas State at Arkansas, Auburn at TCU, Oklahoma State at Texas A&M, West Virginia at Miss St, Florida at Kansas that is the remaining games. If your the SEC your hoping Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Miss St can win then the only other game that looks to be a possible is LSU vs Oklahoma. Florida and Auburn are certain losses and think Iowa State can take Alabama. No SC this year I guess since they already had the game with Baylor scheduled. No Vandy or Missouri which are terrible teams and Kentucky not playing as well.

I figured that Georgia would be good enough to make the NCAA Tournment it looks like I was way wrong there:rolleyes:

"The Key" will be if Key can hit a high number of her close in shots, which would draw in the Texas players to stop her, thus opening up our guards and wings for less pressured jump shots....

Lady Vols all the way.....

Key is playing a little soft as a freshman only thing she needs is to get more physical on offense and take her time on the layups. She rushed her shots against Air Force should've scored 20.

What about Emily?
I'm with you here. Emily has been a pleasant surprise for me so far in that she seems to make more shots than she misses. Obviously she's going to need more time to develop and to get comfortable with the college game, but I sure am liking that she's already someone who, even as a freshman, could possibly give Kellie a few good minutes if there's a situation where we HAVE to have another post step up because of foul trouble or injury.

Even though the schedule has been soft to this point, allowing Kellie to play everyone, I actually didn't expect Emily to play much at all in her freshman year. So when she's come in and cooly hit a few put-backs, I've been giddy for her. Don't sleep on Saunders! She can be our secret weapon. :D

I think the”Big” challenge for every team is to recruit/develop the prototypical, more “complete” post player. I don’t mean this in a negative way, but we are a ways away from having such a weapon; and yet, each of them brings a lotta game to the court.
As for Miss Saunders, she appears an ideal candidate for the two-man game - the give and dive, the screen and go, etc ...you, coachjumper, or others can better explain the technical aspects of such a ploy, and how it might fit our personnel and overall scheme. And, I keep thinking back to the training video wherein she (Miss Saunders) is consistently knocking down threes; would be a dynamic combo ...Saunders screens for Davis/Horston/Burrell, then steps out for the bomb, or the lob into Key or KK. McCoy and Brown could probably work similar magic.
I doubt that any of us believes we’ve seen our entire offensive package, and I actually expect these, or similar additions as the season moves onward and upward.
Yep, I’m pretty sure Coach Kellie will go right to work on this right after reading my post.

Not likely Saunders will be the difference maker in the game against Texas....She may be, but it does not seem logical that the Texas coaches are designing offensive and defensive game plans to defeat Saunders in the paint.

They will want "Key" out of the game as quick as possible....As stated, her success underneath the goal, offensively and defensively, will free up everyone else to excel.....It's a mathematical certainty.

I doubt Emily plays and expect we will see a lot of seven players Horston, Massengill, Davis, Key, KK, Burrell, and Brown. Could see McCoy if she is well.

I HOPE everyone gets a chance to play in every game — at least a couple of minutes. And yes, I understand that coaches like to — and often NEED to — shorten the bench as the season progresses. But, with as hard as I know, and they know, all of these players are working in practice, giving them all at least a couple of game minutes can also keep morale high.

As a former player who always played the most minutes of anyone else, trust me, it boosts the morale of the high-minutes group to see the lower-minutes players get into the games. Just watch how the bench goes insane when Emily or Jessie scores and you’ll get what I’m saying.

Certainly depends on the score of the game if were in a down to the wire type game doubt she gets in. She didn't get in the Notre Dame game but she has made some strides and shown some ability when she has played.

I never expected this to happen... nobody did. I was thinking four wins tops.

Our freshman continue to gain experience so I will take TN at the end of the year. I think the loss of Zaay Green is a bigger deal than people let on but I think it also helps expedite the process of Horston for the future. She is gaining experience and while her shots might not be falling I truly think by seasons end she will be making really good plays.
