James Finch is announcing his 2011 season plans on Thursday most likely, they likely involve Bill Elliott as the rumors go. Earlier reports were saying Awesome Bill would run the first five races to get Phoenix into the T35 but were denied but it might happen now. Hopefully James Finch and Awesome Bill are going full time next year since the Wood Brothers dropped Bill as their driver.

Bill Elliott in a Hendrick powered Chevy, that should upset a few people.

I know a few who went off the deep end over Mark Martin driving a Hendrick Chevy, this should absolutely ice their cake.

Guilty, long time Martin fan, but I learned to live with him driving a bowtie

As a Mark fan I didn't mind at all, I wish this wasn't going to be his last year at HMS. Never understand the car loyalty thing, if Mark was in a Toyota I wouldn't care just as long as he won races and contends for championships.

all of the cars use a Ford 9" rear end I do believe, so Mark still has some Ford under all that sheet metal

He'll be more competitive in the Finch car than he was in the 21 at least. That's a shame too - just shows how much the Wood Brothers have fallen off.

Let me cover myself by saying that I "think" the 21 will run MUCH better this year with Bayne behind the wheel. And mostly because Roush will be shipping off good cars to the Woods for Trevor to use. Bayne will be in the 6 car by midseason if Ragan don't step it up significantly - bank on it.

My brother did just that. He was a MM fan, but refuses to pull for a Chevy. I put the driver above the brand of car. I first started out as a Pontiac fan in the early '60s, then a Dodge/Plymouth fan in the Hemi days, then went to Ford, but with each transition in loyalty, the degree of my fervor has decreased. Today I really don't pay very much attention to the brand, but I tend to be more down on Chevy than pro anything. I did pull for Junior Johnson in his lone efforts in the '63-'64 seasons with the "Mystery 427" Chevy.

David won't be replaced till 2012, its been stated that if he is replaced UPS has an out of the contract. That is the only reason they're keeping him in the car. I'd like to see Trevor run the full season this year for the Wood Brothers and switch to the 6 car next year.

It looked like Ragan was starting to turn it around near the end of the season. It will be interesting to see how he runs coming out of the gate this year.

Bill's website is now listing the tenative races he plans on doing.

I read today that if the team is in the T35 they'll think about running the full season. With them running Bill in the first ten races JMO they should be in solidly in the T35.

Also part of the deal is that Finch is going to help Chase Elliott in his racing career, probably why Bill agreed to drive for Phoenix and I also bet Rick wants Chase in one of his Chevys.

I could see that happening...

As a diehard Ford and Mark Martin fan, I HATED it when he went to Chevrolet. Then, he started running really well and winning races, so I didn't care as much. Go figure!
