For all of the Middle Tennessee Vol fans, is it not great to have Bill King back on the radio again? Nothing like getting off work at 5, turning the dial to 560 AM and listening King break down the UT offensive and defensive lines by player and his strenghts/weaknesses for the 20-25 minute ride home.

In a market where the shows often try to force the Titans or Vandy athlectics for your sports talk, it is nice to have King and his willingness to talk UT football in-depth at any time of the year.

I'm glad he's back on the air. I hope he stays there awhile. of course, he is on rivals radio in the mornings, too, but I don't get to listen to that here at work.

I will say that I enjoyed Don West's show, however. Of course, he's still on, just earlier in the day.

I try to listen to West but his voice ends up getting to me after a while. It will be interesting to see if King & Bubba Miller are able to take some listeners from Plaster once footbal season gets closer.

The sports talk market in Nashville is definitely the most competitive it has been since I have been listening. I would rather listen to Bill anyday over Plaster. I can't stand him, or any of the goobers on 99.7/106.7.

I don't mind Plaster that much. I think their show quality is better than the 106.7 guys. Still, while both FM shows are talking about what the Titans are going to do with the 6th pick for the umpteenth time or the reasons why Vandy cannot compete in football, I will gladly switch over to 560 and listen to King talk about which incoming freshmen will most likely play and what the UT coaches are telling him about their talents.

I just hope the Nashville caller "Eric" does not follow the Vols. I am tired of his 5 minute background information for his three 2-part questions.

Was King one of the guys that Gallion has alledged was fired for criticizing UT and Fulmer?

See what I have to listen to? Slimebaum or other morons. Bham sports radio sucks except for Sonny and Wimp -- possibly the best show that talks about nothing since Seinfeld! Seriously, Sonny Smith and Wimp Sanderson seemingly make it up on the fly. They are rarely prepared and don't seem to take it very seriously but it's quite entertaining.

I did not hear anything about King being fired for being critical of UT. His show with Climer and Bubba Miller was cancelled about a year ago on 99.7 but nothing was ever made of it to the public. If that were true, the Nashville media would have been all over that one. I often think many of them hate the Vols as much as they are forced to prentend to like them.

King has long been critical of Sanders more than Fulmer dating back to his first employment with 560 AM. If Fulmer had/has a problem with King, I don't know that Bill would be given the opportunity for so much insight to the players and detailed information. Sounds like the Bammers are grabbing for anything they can.

Speaking of Slimbaugh, I was passing through Birmingham a couple of weeks ago and was wondering what station that rat can be found blabbering on and what time of day. I wanted to see if he was a complete moron for an entire show or just when he talks about UT.

Yes, that was the rumor.
