A friend of mine was remarking the other day that in the past few years, Bill King has taken a much sharper tack against the Vols. When he and Bob Bell were together, it was almost always good. In the past few years, not so much. Does anyone remember when and why he got so cranky?

Bill was also not a fan of the Kiffin hire, actually when it was rumored that Kiffin was in the running for the job Bill referred to it as "an awful direction if that's where they(UT) decide to go". He was a big supporter of Brian Kelly. However, even by his own admission he had interviewed Brian Kelly 6-8 times whereas he had never talked to Kiffin.

Now I haven't listened to his afternoon show here in Nashville in a month or so, so he might be warming up to Kiffin with the staff he has now assembled.

Bill King knows a lot about recruiting. He & Joe Biddle have a sports talk show weekdays. King indeed was pleasant back when he was with Bob Bell. He transformed after having columnist David Climer as his sidekick. If you know Climer, he attempts to be Nashville's answer to Finebaum: negative, sarcastic, & extremely biased; always tearing folks down. Bob Bell is MISSED on Nashville radio airwaves...just like John Ward is missed as the real Voice of the Vols.

Bill will give props to a staff comprised of monster recruiters once they start getting commitments from monster recruits. I'm willing to wait a few years to see results but alot of people are looking for something instant.

Don't forget that Joe Biddle sits next to him now on the show and is the biggest Spurrier homer you will find since they both went to Science Hill HS. Biddle loves to take digs at UT and especially Fulmer. For the last few years, their show has been a Negavol haven.

Isn't it interesting that in Big Orange Country, you can have a Climer/Biddle/King combo and talk critically about the Vols; try speaking critically against the Tide in Alabama and you'd get cancelled. Finebaum- the Joseph Goebbels of the Alabama Reich.

Things won't get turned around next year- no staff has that much pixie dust- but give it a few and we should see things improve.

What station is Bill King on? Is it 106.7 or is it on one of the AM channels? What time does he come on? I would like to hear it sometime. Thanks.

He is on in the afternoons on 650AM- unless you live in Nashville, you won't pick him up.
The call letters are WNSR, so you might try the internet.
He is a long time Vol commentator and knows his recruiting stuff cold.

He is on 560 AM, not sure if it was a typo or not. 650 is WSM the country mega station with the Grand Ole' Opry on it and mostly old country music. Just wanted to clarify. And yes, 560 will not come in half the place in Nashville either (similar to 1180 in Knoxville). But they were the 1st 24 hour sports radio in Nash-vegas, now there are 3.

I can't help but think Bill King got denied something or some how he felt dissed by UT because he is a bitter Old Man now. I used to love him and Bob but now his show sucks ass, not to mention he had Biddle who is another peckerhead. I won't listen to him now because he whines like my 2 year daughter. GET OVER IT BILL.

Does Bill King still have a job in radio? I have not heard him since the old WLAC days. He always thought he knew something and always ended up an idiot in the end.

That is amazing. He is horrible.

Yeah, he left WLAC and ended up on 560 am for a while, left and now is back. He went to one of the FM staions in twon but it didn't last long. His other show is on Sirius with the Rivals.com station and is decent. The only one worse to listen to on that dreadful station was greg pogue (sp) from the daily news journal in murfreesboro, he made king soung like a superstar... As far as biddle, I lost interst in him when he and another guy stabbed Plaster and Co. in the back. At least that got us 104.5 now lol

If this was "worst Fantasy Radio" The lineup would be a round table of

Bill King
Joe Biddle
Blake Fulton. (that whole take over of 99.7 was genius not) Wonder what that dude is doing now.

I like to see more of Brent Dougherty

Though I have to say do any of you guys listen to the 106.7 Thom Abraham show in the evenings. i think that guy will pass George Willie and Darren eventually

I used to like Willie and them but now they do these stupid question stuff. Red house or Blue house? Bikini or tankiini?
WTF

I agree, the 104 guys remind me of Fulmer, they have gotten way to comfortable. The morning show there is way better. I think Blake went to St Louis if I remember... And good ole bitter biddle is left with king on a dying am station. karma is a b**ch

Bill King is an ok guy.
He will be in trouble though if UT starts playing well.
As he has made a living and radio show bashing them.
His show feature zero quality guests and no format what so ever. He has this cook on there named cosby kid/small mike who is pretty funny but he offers no insight. The entire 3 hours of the show is how good UGA and UF recruiting is. How hard it is for UT to keep up with them and how good a coach spurrier is.

I called in once and asked Joe Biddle if UGA is light years ahead of the vols in talent (which he suggests on every show every hour) how is it UT handed it to them 2 years in a row and played them tight in 05 and 08. And he managed to avoid th e question and pointed to the recruiting rankings.
