Bill Snyder announced his retirement at the end of the season. Wonder if they will take a look at cut, or if he would have any interest. Seems like the Big 12 would be a good place to start over these days.

I'm sure we'll start hearing names like Cutcliffe, Solich, Price etc. As far down as the program is, I'd think they'd try to find some young guy somewhere.

I've said this before, but I do not think Cutcliffe is in as high demand as what has been created in Volville. All of the talk surrounding our program has made it seem a little that way - a little skewed.

That aside, I think Fulmer could do worse than hire him. He knows how to organize an offense and a staff.

I still say make Fulmer give up $1mm and give it to Al Borges. That guy can get it done.

I agree.

He was fired from a div I school (old miss) even though he did a decent job. Most coaches who are fired from a division I school, end up at a lesser div I school if lucky (Dinardo) or as an assistant coach, or worse on ESPN2.

Though I tend to agree with you to a point, I also think the fact that Weiss actually hired him to be the QB coach at ND coupled with the fact that he was "hand picked" by Archie to coach his boys adds to his attractiveness as a head man.

Yes there is a difference between being a QB coach and a head man, but given the afforementioned facts he may be a little more attractive as a candidate than you think. Only time will tell. I hope you are correct....I think.

That's like Frank Solich at Ohio U. When he was at Nebraska, he went 9-4, 12-1, 10-2, 11-2, 7-7 and 10-3. Then he got fired. That's 59-19. Not too shabby, but not Tom Osbournesque.

I think the top choice for the Kansas State Job is the U. south Fla
coach. He turned down the alabama job.
I think bringing back Cutcliffe would be a mistake. The vols need some new ideas, but Fulmer can't or won't see it.

Liper I think you may be just a little off. I live outside of Tennessee (unfortunately) and the talk nation wide is how dumb Ole Miss was for getting rid of him. The Razorbacks fans are talking about getting Cut as an O coodinator and his name has been bantered about for other HC jobs. His biggest question is health.

Also guys it is funny that in as late as September Cut was the bomb on this site by many. Many on here talked about how great things were with Cut. Now he is no good. HMMMMM

Funny how things happen.

I think Cut as the new OC is already a done deal.Everything Fulmer has said about the next OC points right at Cut.
