Enjoy sitting around talking about your glory days Florida fans. If you need to tips on how to handle the decade of mediocrity to come, dial the 303 or 720 area codes.

So, you're saying the NBA is about the players and coaches are irrelevant?
To an extent, yes. How'd Pat Riley do last year with D-Wade injured? I'm pretty sure that was Phil Jackson doing nothing when he first returned to LA.

I damn sure wouldn't criticize Donovan or any gator coach. Donovan won back-to-back national titles--and we have done exactly what in basketball?

Pretty much. I'm not saying that all you have to do to be a successful NBA coach is roll out a ball, and let them have at it. If that's all it took, every HS gym teacher would be a good NBA coach.

You're probably right, but I'd trade a decade of mediocrity for two national titles in bball.

While I think it is a little unfair to dismiss his repeated NCAA appearances and the two national c-ships, as I have posted elsewhere there is a lack of toughness and will to this particular team. I also think that Donovan does not place enough emphasis on recruiting big men and never has. He has always recruited in his own image, which is the guard position and he needs to go get some bangers. A frined of mine, a Gator fan, thinks and has always thought, that Donovan is just a "good," but not great coach. He thinks the two national championships were the fluke of chemistry between those paeticular players and everyone else being down for those two years. I am STARTING to wonder if he might be right.
