Bishop/Seldon injury question

Wasn’t Seldon supposed to be part of the 1-2 punch with Sampson this season? I know he was injured early season but there’s gotta be more to it than that at this point. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t transfer out.

RB playing time usually comes down to pass protection. The one's who pick it up the quickest play the soonest. The coaching staff has to trust them in pass protection. Seldon's injury was a shoulder, hard to take hits and deliver hits with a bum shoulder.
He’s fine in pass protection. If they trust you on kick return they trust you can take a hit. I think it comes down to giving these kids as many years of eligibility to develop a resume that gets them to the league. At this point he might as well redshirt and play a full year next year at 100%. Might be here, might be somewhere else, coaches and Seldon will figure that out.

I listened. He wasn’t asked about any injuries by our illustrious Knox media corps.
Will have to wait for Wednesday’s required injury report.

They asked after the game:

"And we've got to get Cam (Seldon) back and fully ready to go and just healthy. And hopefully DeSean will be ready and keep pushing those guys."

Maybe Seldon isnt as good as we hoped ? 😬

Maybe he doesnt like it here and wants to red shirt then leave 😬
Idk. I’m going with we’ve got a really talented RB room and three healthy guys in front of him. Of course who knows what condition bishop is in after the injury. Hopefully he’s good.

I would rather use 6 as the workhorse spelled by 18 and let 23 heal. 27 is capable as well. We don’t need to rush Seldon back and cause his timeline to reset. He got some snap and experience but will be ready for next year. We need a good 2-3 guys next year and we are definitely going to be looking at Bishop and Seldon to lead the way.

Really hope it’s just a lingering injury with Cam. A lot of us were really stoked to see what he could do, and still are. Still floored by how well Bishop has played, what a steal he was. Hoping that next season, those two along with Lewis will be reminiscent of the Wright/Small/Sampson “three-headed monster” from last year.

So Bishop has a lower body injury? Ankle?
And is Lewis now our second team running back?
What is wrong with Seldon?
He’s never on the injury report but he never plays. Very confusing.

Seldon has been the kickoff returner.

Lewis will get some more run going forward as the RB2 option.

I hope we finally come out strong in the first quarter and make this a game where Lewis and Keith get most of the second half carries. Be nice to see the practice guys getting carries late in the 4th quarter. We need a game like that.

Selden has played in only 4 games so far, if he doesn't play against Miss St. that will tell us he is redshirting and we won't see him until the bowl game/playoff. I assume the playoffs will be like bowl games and not count for redshirting. I would think he and Lewis would be RB 1&2 next year,Bishop will be a close #3.

The thing concerns me the most with Cam is his height. He’s 6’2 and everyone knows the best backs are smaller especially for someone who needs to be elusive. I do think he would be a good pass protector though because of his size.

Seldon is redshirting if he doesn’t play this week. Hopefully that doesn’t mean transferring as well. It’s odd he would elect to redshirt with a potential playoff on the line if he isn’t leaving. Hubbs mentioned something to keep an eye on.

Cam had shoulder surgery over the summer. That means he missed Alot of practice time.. idk why that’s so hard for people to grasp. If he red shirts awesome. Either way he is getting much needed reps every week. He could transfer, but so could every player on the team. I’m hoping to see him at full strength next year with more opportunities to shine. He’s an absolute Swiss Army knife and I can’t wait to see what huep has in store for him.

siap but Keith has played in three games
you're correct about Seldon playing in four

Bishop looks like a truly natural running back - excellent vision and instincts. He is a phenomenal pickup for a PWO. Peyton Lewis also has been impressive. Cam looks at times like he could lack quickness and vision. However, if he can get fully healthy his overall athletic ability which is considerable could put him in the mix in 2025. The four game redshirt rule is great as the old rule of any playing time costing a year of eligibility was ridiculous. If Cam can continue honing his blocking and receiving skills, he can be a major factor moving forward. Cam, Lewis, and Bishop are all impressive young running backs.

Wonder where my guy is that was trying to convince me that Keith was going to play a major part in the offense this year.

Shoulder surgeries are a bitch and take a lot of time to fully heal.

First, Bishop is out, again. A shame. MSN

Second, I'm the Keith guy, the season isn't done yet. Sampson makes it difficult for Keith and others to see serious time. But if he's given a chance, having a big back will pay off. Sampson is having an All-American season, You don't shut your horse in the stable when it's the best of the herd and the haulers. :p
