He’s taken on running key guard on scout team, and has been winning matchups against starters. We have minutes available due to JJJ and Phillips being hurt. He earned some time.

6 minutes isn’t “major minutes”. They weren’t garbage or mop up minutes either. BJ’s job was to keep the differential close while burning time off of the clock as ZZ sat down with foul trouble.

ZZ was in foul trouble and JJJ injured. Plus he has played well on the scout team during practice. We need him to develop for the future ad we don’t have a “go to” guy.

If Seigler continues to get into foul trouble, I think Edwards continues to see an uptick in playing time until James returns.

Even so I'd have to think we could have gotten a serviceable guy in the portal from some place especially with ZZ wanting to come off the bench. Barnes made his decision. I’m assuming you’re talking about Yuri Collins which would have been an automatic investigation had Barnes continued to go with it.

I’m sure we need more distractions with this team.

I’m not familiar with that situation. Who are you referring to?
My comments are about how Barnes has handled Edward’s minutes. Not sure where you are going.

BJ's increased minutes were definitely situational last night.

Needing to play small ball, so Uros, Awaka, and ON are a nope. JJJ and Phillips gimpy. And Z in foul trouble.

Probably was not in Barnes' pregame script.

I think that it was in the script as soon as Phillips injured his hip in practice on Friday. With JJJ out, JP going to be limited, Key already getting more minutes, and ZZ and/or SV possibly getting into foul trouble, BJE was part of the game plan.
