Every darn coach on that team needs to put on a black stripe. Yes, I understand that this is a rebuilding job, but this defensive performance is making me miss Sunseri. I think UT is giving up about 20 yards a carry at this point. I haven't seen one phase of the game where UT has improved. Special teams is abyssmal. Not trying to be knee jerk, but after these past three games, I'd like to know why the team has taken such a horrible turn for the worse.

I'm fully ready for the backlash that will ensue, but my theory is that the butchisms have run their course and now we're seeing what we really have in this coaching staff.

Lol at not trying to knee jerk.

yeah, because recovering from 3 years of Derek Dooley was only going to take 2/3rds of a season

Florida has room for some new fans today.

Good grief, here comes the holier than thou, self-righteous, "You're not a true fan and I am," crowd. Put it on your resume.

Don't even go there. Just because someone isn't excited about performance, it doesn't mean they aren't a fan. If anything, it's the opposite. You can see how passionate the op is.

You're right! People seem to conveniently forget that Jones coached in the Big East. Not exactly a powerhouse conference. I can't wait for Butchie's "This is not acceptable" speech.

Agree. We appear to be a very poorly coached football team at the moment.

Thanks for the back-up but I can handle the holy fans.
I just never liked the whole black stripe thing, and it's not the first time I've made the comment about these coaches wearing the black stripe. They treat the players like they've got something to earn, which they do. But, what the hey had CBJ ever done in the SEC? Martinez and Jancek have been fired. Thigpen was coaching on this Auburn team last year. Fired. You think the situation in Auburn last year was a talent problem?

Are you telling me there aren't fundamental problems on coaching kick coverage, blocking and tackling on this team?

I believe what we're seeing, more than anything, is a lack of mental toughness. There is obviously a physical component when we talk about talent. But mental fatigue takes a toll over the course of the season, too.

It's not enough to recruit players who can run faster and bench-press more than the ones we have now. The guys coming in will have to have the character to hang tough throughout the course of a long grinding season. We just don't have that right now.

I'm literally exhausted trying to convince people like you that we just don't have the players yet to compete with the top half of the SEC. I mean, you didn't just start watching college football this year, did you?

We are not talking about winning versus losing. Yes, UT does not have the talent to win 8 or 9 games in this league right now. However, that really isn't the issue, and it's a shame that people like you want to argue against strawmen. Competing is not about talent. Competing is about preparation, execution, effort, passion, discipline, etc. Do you honestly feel like you are watching a team that is doing any of those things?

Your argument doesn't hold water when you simply consider the team that is taking UT to the woodshed. Auburn lost every league game last year. Why? Talent? Obviously not. They lacked the things above.

I don't think any critic here expected UT to win this game. I didn't. So, please stop with the strawman arguments.
