Your argument is that Auburn does not have talent because of their record from last year and that Gus is coaching them up now. You are wrong. They are very talented and have speed everywhere - they were not being coached properly last year, this year they are. They are far and away more talented than we are and the evidence in on the field right now.

good grief. Read. It's that simple. I already stated it has nothing to do with talent. I know we suck talent wise. I was all but pushed off the board for talking all summer about how a bowl season would be a miracle. But this team isn't fighting anymore, they aren't trying. It's effort. That's coaching, plain and simple.

Wow. You agree with me, yet find away to argue anyway. Brilliant. You really don't get it.
Auburn is a much more talented team. Both last year and this year. Where did I say otherwise? Hint, I didn't. Where did I say UT should win this game? Hint: I didn't.
In fact, I said this post isn't about winning or losing. It is about coaching making a difference, and making progress. Auburn's turn around is evidence of that. So, I'm not sure where you come to that conclusion.

What you are seeing on the field today is not just a matter of talent differential. UT looks inept, not simply out manned.

So Butch ain't the guy after 9 games with a roster full of guys he didn't recruit who are learning his system on both sides of the ball for the first time and playing the toughest schedule in college football? Your reply ought to be good.......:popcorn:

ok, I was wrong. You won't make valid victorian of your class. This team has quit on him. His Butchisms have worn out. Now he has to make a team by coaching football. Teaching Xs and Os. Teaching fight, endurance and motivation. Teaching blocking schems. Pass routes. Timing routes. How to run block. How to not jump offsides. Time to see if he can or not.

Bottom line. Butch will have no less than three years to prove he "IS" the guy. It really doesn't matter if I criticize him, or if you pump sunshine. Facts are facts. What I do know is that today is evidence that Butch isn't the only one over there that needs a black stripe.
We both agree that Auburn was the victim of terrible coaching last year. What I do know is that CBJ hired two people off of that staff. (Thigpen, Martinez) They are now influencing UT's culture, specifically the defense. That is a fact, whether you like it or not.

What we are seeing today is not just the result of poor talent. It's bad coaching. Period. If you don't want to admit it, fine. If CBJ is the guy, he will recognize that and make changes. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see some faces change on the staff. If he is smart he'll not make the mistakes Fulmer made and let bad coaches linger.

All the motivation and technique in the world will not get guys like Jaron Toney and D. Swafford to tackle guys like Tre Mason and Nick Marshall in space. It's a talent disparity (that means difference). You have very little football knowledge so I will stop being so hard on you.....probably not your fault.

Everybody clammers for Chavis and the good ole days. Well, I've got an interesting theory for ya'll. Chavis was only as good as his players. In other words, if he had the talent we have now he wouldn't be faring any better.

Much respect to KBVol. We used to disagree alot about the coaching. I'm glad he is able to look at the product and honestly evaluate what he's seeing, rather than just dig a hole in the sand and bury his head. Most of you could learn from him.
