Black tends to blend into nature and not stand out visually. Seems a QB would rather have his receivers visually standout from defenders. Black also absorbs sunlight (heat) - something players. But that black and orange does look nice together.

You do realize this game is a night game? And heat isn’t normally a factor last weekend of October in Knoxville.

I'd bet much money they wear black that night, I don't even think it's much of a mystery.

Pseudo Halloween game..? Like the true Halloween game against SC where we rocked the recently-put-together-in-a-hurry black..? I think the alternates are great, but should be used on a “rarely” basis. With that being said, orange and black always looks awesome and there’s no better time to rock it than late October.

I would love to have been there, but I remember the night vividly. Was hanging at a friend’s house down the street and we came up to my parents’ house to watch the game when it started. At the half, I ran back to my friend’s to get my jacket I had left and had to jump over a river in the yard. Was a great game in a great atmosphere.
Sure it was only SC, but they had Spurrier, who had that program to heights they’d never been.

Dark mode was a Kiffin thing (and I liked it). It doesn't fit the Heupel approach. Not yet anyway.

I personaly hate the black, but I am still all vols regardless of the black.
