Bleacher Report already has a story/video up of the odds on the next HC...

Derek Dooley Fired: Odds on Next Tennessee Head Coach | Bleacher Report

In a nut-shell it's....

John Gruden - 25-1....Prefers the NFL over CF therefore long-shot at Vols

Bobby Petrino - 10-1....short term but everywhere he has gone has not turn around for the good

Charlie Strong - 6-1...smart and has done good with Lousiville. Maybe ready for a bigger program and Vols fit the bill

Kirby Smart - 4-1...Hart's ties to Bama nd knows Kirby well. Smart is one of the hotest assistants and sought after out there and would be a excellent HC

If I wasn't a fan of UT, I won't want JG to coach here either.

Keep the trash outside Hart, we NEED Gruden

I don't think we will get Gruden but the man has said on multiple occassions that he would be interested in the Tennessee job. The problem is he will want at least 5 mil a year.

Worth it.

This is a business and Gruden will sell tickets.

I'd be SHOCKED if Hart hired Smart. He's not a proven HC. Look at every hot assistant from last year. They ALL went to a smaller school.

With the way things have been here lately, NOTHING would surprise me, unfortunately...especially with Ainge putting the 'semi-homerun hire' crap out there...scared now.......

There are only two coaches who make $5Mil a year or more...Mack Brown and Saban. Hart can offer say $3.2 Mil the first year with some bonus getting us to a bowl with possible increase to $4 Mil by the second or third year. Whoever comes in will probably get in the area of $2.5 to $3.2 Mil depending on who they are.

Hart pretty much said "Head coaching experience in the SEC is critical as a candidate". That rules out Smart, right?

we could sell out the stadium for 2 straight games, and some concession and merchandise sells and pay grudens salary for a year, it will pay for itself.

This proposed salary structure smells way too much like Mike Hamilton. Going to have to go way beyond that.

Umm.... "Head coaching experience in the SEC is critical as a candidate"

He said. "AS A CANDIDATE" He didn't say "FOR ALL THE CANDIDATES"

He said head coaching experience is crucial. He also said that they must know what it takes to succeed in the SEC. He said they must be a proven winner and that money will not be a hindrance.

I like Ainge, but he also said no way was Hart making an announcement until after the Kentucky game. Well....

Nobody really knows what Hart is going to do, except Hart. And that's probably the way it should be.

Money isn't a problem. I don't understand why anyone keeps thinking this.
