This has been one tough week, huh guys (and gals)? I've got to say that I'm about through posting in all these bitch and moan threads. I think our points have been made, and reiterating the same thing over and over again is pretty much fruitless. Take it to the airwaves, the boosters, the athletic department -- email, call, write, talk -- whatever it takes. But, this place has become a haven for self-mutilation since Saturday. And, it's downright depressing.
I've read a lot of "jump ship" posts and berating the players, and I have to laugh at how ignorant some of that stuff is. So, I was sitting around on the phone last night and realized something -- it's not just winning the SEC or the National Championship that makes me a Vol. Case in point: we played one of the most disappointing games I've ever witnessed against Georgia, but I still had one of the best weekends I've had in a long while. A whole flock of close friends descended on K-town from around the country, and we got to tailgate, hit the Strip, and hang out in my "Big Orange" room at home shooting pool, enjoying music, catching up, and just being buddies. Just being Vols.
These are tough times in Tennessee country, but we'll pull through. Remember why we love this team so much -- the REAL reasons behind our comaraderie, and things don't seem like such a wash.
If you need an example: check the Grove in Oxford for the next Ole Miss home game.
