I'm not sure, though, that they give a "how they did in their conference tournament" statistic to people on the committee

People here seem to think it matters how you do in your conference tournament, so i thought i'd include it for comparisons sake.

team b has paid committee members a significant sum to keep them 'in the mix.'

A person would have to be blind to not know who these teams are.

Kentucky is not our competition. They have little to no argument at this point. Our biggest competitors for a final spot will be Bama and Maryland IMO (assuming Ole Miss loses here ). I think if those two lose tomorrow, well move much closer to being in on Lunardi's board as their resumes will be lacking.

MTSU should be in over us but I have faith in the selection committee to make the right decision if it comes down to the Vols, La Salle, or Boise State. Our resume stacks up well against theirs and with how we've played in our last 11 we should be in.

My fellow Lofton-avatar-having poster, you're right on the money.

These are literally my exact thoughts. Well said.

The NCAA leaving KY out of the basketball tournament would be like the NCAA leaving AL out of the National Title game in football. They just won't do it! Heaven forbid!!

We all know how these committees think by now; Team B being the defending national champion is going to carry a lot more weight with the selection committee than Team A being the defending...uh...well... uh...oh...uh...

I look forward to the next meeting between these two teams in the NIT.
