Blue socks?

im not trying to start anything here but with all the people freaking out about the football team wearing black and the claims of "we are orange!!", why does it seem to be no big deal about the bball team and the blue pull overs and shoes?
am i missing something or is blue part of the bball color scheme?

It's been covered in Freak's thread halfway down. It's an Adidas promotion for Maui. Michigan had them as well, being an Adidas school.

Because our basketball team has no history outside the past 6 years and the Ernie and Bernie show.

Blue warm-up shirts and blue shoes???

Horrific and not at all what I expect to see for UT Vols!

The black was bad enough when they added it to the uniforms but this is pitiful.

Why are they allowing merchandising dollars change TN Vols tradition?

We USED to have the sharpest looking colors/uniforms in the SEC. Now? Gag...

There used to be blue in the unis back in the 80's. Nowhere near the level of blue displayed last night. Not sure what that was about.

chill out oh my goodness why do you care so much about the uniforms? I like them, recruits like them, and it doesnt even matter! HOW OLD ARE YOU? IVE COME TO A CONCLUSION THAT THE OLD GENERATIONS HATE THE JERSEYS MORE BECAUSE OF "TRADITION" seriously? recruits now a days do not really want to come to a college because of tradition.

edit : didnt mean to capitalize all of that but im too lazy to go back and change it

I figured the blue had to do with EA Sports or Maui in some way. We haven't worn blue before last night, correct? I wouldn't worry about it. Probably a one time thing.

The blue is simply an Adidas color scheme for the Maui Invitational. We will not be wearing them for the rest of the season (not sure if you noticed, but the warm-ups have tribal patterns on them). It's a one time deal and the black in the uniforms is not that prominent either. The jerseys are fine and still look good, but I guess people will whine about every little change...

michigan was wearing the same shoes so does that mean we r going to start wearing maze and blue? OH NOOOOOOO!
