He's been there before and performed well. Very good DC, but mediocre Head Coach. LSU is not going away any time soon if they get more good QB play.

Pretty good hire by them. A couple of us were talking in the office the other day that he kind of fell off the face of the planet after he was fired and nobody seemed to show interest during the mad coaching searches since 2014. Make no mistake, Nebraska is probably kicking itself for letting him go regardless of how much he ran his mouth.

The Nebraska-OU game used to be all kind of crazy when he was the coach and we had a solid defense that short time when he was here (co-coordinated with Brent Venables).

I think he'll fit in well at LSU.

I don't keep up with FCS that much, but I thought it was always kind of North Dakota State than everyone else that plays for #2-25 in that world with major shifts each year in the teams.

Regardless, he's a proven DC at the FBS level and I'm not upset he is not coming to the Big 12.

His less than stellar rants he got slammed for more than once while at Nebraska kind of tainted his viability and temperament for a while. Tarnished his respect value. He has been able to lay low at YSU, but still Orgeron is the first one to come calling in 5 years with a decent offer.

He will do well there.

That is an understatement. LSU maybe the reason Saban thinks about retiring in a few years if they keep rolling. I know that's a big if, however several SEC teams are going to be hard outs now, so the days of Bama and then everybody else in the SEC maybe over.

He won 9 or 10 games there almost every year...Guy has a temper problem however.

He is firey no doubt about that, always has been. I'm not sure if it's enough to be problematic for him in the future though, I think going back to a DC role instead of Head Coach will be beneficial to him in that area.
