And last 2 years was in charge of some of the worst D s in UT history

How our talent fall this low ?

Butch just couldn't let go of the reins and let coordinators do what they get paid for and refused to adjust a stupid Offense that had no way of succeeding in the SEC

Not just a lack of talent, although it’s s major factor. Shoops’ failure, by all accounts after the fact, had as much to do with Jones’ meddling and the toxic culture he had wrought. There’s a reason why Shoop was outstanding at both Vandy and Penn State and now Miss State....but sucked at Tennessee...it was Jones.

Honestly, Butch Jones should never get another head coaching job based on what we know of him at Tennessee. Recruited ok, but more for star rating than actual talent and fit for his program....was small-minded, petty, dishonest and made excuses upon excuses....was awful at player development created an absolute toxic environment of mistrust and no accountability.

I’m sure he will one day, but the guy just has no business being a “leader of young men” at a university.

Remember when tons of folks on this very website were saying that we just needed to wait till Butch Jones his own guys in here? He couldn’t win with Dooley’s guys. But when he finally had his own they knew he would win at UT.
