Is anyone else watching the OU/MIZZ game. Stoops kept all startings in to put 60 on the board and was already up 34 with less than five to play.

Don't blame Stoops. Blame the system that turns every game into a beauty contest.

GAvol hit the nail on the head. As long as the BCS runs/ruins everything you can throw sportsmanship out the window. Its all about style points baby! Not who deserves it more(Texas).

I don't mind all the points being scored, it's not OU's fault they're that much better than the competition lately... but I don't see why the Sooners would even need the style points at this point. Is there actually a scenario where they wouldn't remain in the top two of the BCS with any kind of win tonight?

CUM is a POS. When they asked all the other SEC coaches about CPF being fired, he showed once again he has no class. Nick Saban was politically correct and said how the expectations are sometimes unrealistic or unfair. CuM pretty much said "crap happens" and that you had to win to work in the SEC. Maybe true, but very disrespectful IMO.

I hope other team's fans start threads like this about Kiff. Florida/OU/UT...wouldn't bother me to be mentioned in the same breath.

Pinkle needs to do some reevaluating on D. It has killed him on any opponent worth a crap. If he doesnt lose his DC & DB coach he will be getting a nice settlement like Phils. Losing the OC dont help either. He went to Wyoming.

The OU fans were chanting "We Want Florida", should be a good game. It will be interesting to see if OU can actually show up to a national championship game, unlike the USC game a few years ago.

I agree. He is not a very good person. Great football coach, but as good a coach as he is, he is that bad of a human being. I can't wait for when Florida stumbles back to being only a decent team. No one stays at the top forever. It'll be neat to watch what happens to them once Tebow is gone.

I would take Stoops over any coach in the country.

Even with his teams absolutely gagging in every BCS game they've played in recent memory? Boise State and West Virginia had no business being on the same field as Oklahoma and they both controlled the game throughout. I won't even bring up that USC game.

I would hope Kiffin would do the same when the NC game may be in question to some voters. Let there be no doubt ,we belong. Period.

FWIW he was trying to break the record by scoring 60 in 5 straight games. Stoops does pretty well considering most of his best players he recruits from Texas, his major rival. Not that many coaches could have done what he's done at OU to turn it around IMO.

And to think they had 55 at the half in the game before this streak started...

Either the Big 12 defenses are really that bad or their offense is that good.

I almost feel bad to say it , being lulled into the Fulmer rationale, {play not to lose or embarass anyone, ala Cal : circa 2005} but if a team in college ball wants to play for the NC, let the other team play our best for 60 minutes. i want to see back up's get quality minutes personally, but not at the expense of the program. You recuite studs, let them run - period. the second team should be expected to execute the entire offense, not just the prevent offense.

I would be happy if TN were beating teams like Oklahoma has this year. I don't know about you guys.

Agreed, but any system with thatmany contestants and that few games is going to have voter element, which means a beauty contest is always going to be part of the deal.

You're definitely right about that. Whether it was the old bowl system, the BCS or a playoff system, style points always are going to matter.
