Doubt he comes, but a coach never says its a possibility. Only way he says something is when the UT AD is paying his salary; otherwise, why would he slight his very lucrative employers by even hinting at going elsewhere?

Again, to be clear, I'm speaking hypothetically. I don't foresee Stoops in orange.

Stoops was a long shot from the beginning.. He might have a level of burnout also.. His teams have been kind of slipping the last couple of years...

I spoke with a big OU booster today and he assures me that Stoops in not leaving OU. He said it's a game the agents are playing to get a pay bump. he's apparently got an ego, and doesn't like falling out of the top-10 highest paid coaches in the NCAA so he plays this game to get an extension with a pay bump, they might even do it from the licensing and sponsorship perspective so it's not out in the public.

Bobby wants a little jingle....

Tracking down a new Tennessee football coach

''I love the job I have and the people I work for, so I'll try and keep it another year," Stoops said.

Merge or delete if repost.

I don't see Stoops as even a possibility, however, this statement doesn't mean anything either. He's not going to come out and say he has been talking to UT. This means nothing.

Never... wanted.... Stoops.

I think he's a niche coach who would be foolish to leave OU. He has a great recruiting pipeline to Texas. He coaches in a conference with a style of play that fits him to a Tee. I do NOT believe his ability/style would translate well to the SEC.

Stoops was never coming to UT, so this can't be a surprise to people. He makes 4.5M and goes to a BCS almost every year due to a weak conference.
