We commented early in the game that he provided some sharp analysis and perspective, but later we were complaining he talked too damn much and was full of himself. I would have been happy if they talked about 1/3 less of the time. Ditto for most current announcers. Some of the "color" guys are trying to emulate the great Tony Romo by offering deep insight into the game, but few can pull it off without becoming long-winded and tiresome. They just love the sound of their own voice. Is it just me, or does anyone else watching our UT telecasts (football and basketball) wish the announcers would just shut up already! lol
We don't care about your personal lives in any way, shape or form.
Or talking about other teams NOT on the field, or something totally unrelated to football.
Or making no comment (or replay) about one of our exceptional plays while blabbering about something unrelated.
Or trying to be comedians. Are you listening Jimmy Dykes?
Or screaming too often and too loud about plays that do not warrant shouting. Are you listening Gus Johnson?
The TV networks need to find a reincarnation of Pat Summerall to cover our games. Or even Bill Anderson!
