Hamlin stinks, he just wont cut it in the Cup. Bobby well who cares? Smoke again owns the series (wouldnt matter if it was wheel barrell races) But he'll (Stewart) needs to leave Gibbs, if he wants more. Zippy has had offers from Hendrick and Rouch, BIFF LMFAO'...... what a joke. If not for Edwards (Schraders nephew) Roush would be done! If your a fan, sure Mark Martin deserves the time of day.

If your a racing fan, screw Sundays, watch the Truck series. Its only going to get better, thats hard to top if you like racing.

AVONDALE, Ariz. -- Bobby Labonte will drive the No. 43 Dodge for Petty Enterprises beginning in 2006, the team announced Friday at Phoenix International Raceway.

As much as I like the Pettys, this is a major step down for Bobby. Petty enterprises hasn't even been close to competitive in years. I hope it works out for Bobby, but I'm afraid he'll live to regret it. :twocents:

Maybe they are both looking for that new spark. Hope it does work out.

I dunno... Kyle and Jeff Green haven't been running horribly lately, usually from about 15th to 25th... Most would agree that Bobby is better than Jeff Green, plus the addition of Robbie Loomis can't hurt.

Very good point. Robbie is a great crew chief, and Bobby is a great driver. Maybe the two of them together can get the Pettys back up front where they need to be.

I have a feeling that Kyle will hang it up before long and the Pettys will concentrate on the one car with Labonte in it.

Either way, I look for them to be competitive with the #43 next year!

I sure hope so. Bobby is an awesome driver and a good guy. Had some bad luck this year. Hope it gets turned around.

Agree! Bobby is a great guy. You can't help but pulling for a guy like that. Maybe he can help Kyle to run better too. I would love to see Kyle running better. He's just an awesome person, with all he does for charity.

Finished 5th tonight right behind teammate Stewart. I knew he was going to sit behind Stewart in case Johnson made a gamble. What a team player.

He should have went balls out and tried to win it. I don't know if he could have though.

I agree, its no secret it takes deep pockets to win in nascar and the petty's dont have that.

The Petty's (class acts) have the money, they just won't spend it. They have been improving here lately though. With Loomis and Bobby Labonte (class act) around, I think that they will work well together. If they have great equipment and communication, it will work for the best.

Hamlin has started 6 times this year and he already has 3 top 10's and a pole. He finished 13th Sunday. Fed Ex wanted someone put into that car that would show some good results and it looks like they have found him in Hamlin.

Actually, neither one of them will probably be eligible for rookie of the year next year.

I think the minimum number of races you can run and no longer be considered for ROTY on your first full season is 7, and this weekend's race will be his 7th.

Truex has ran several races in the last two years for the sole purpose of just gaining Cup experience. TEI decided that experience would be better than an award.

I wasn't even thinking about that. Good point. Hamlin should still be eligible, but I don't know about Truex. How many Cup races has he run?

I don't know the exact number... but I'm sure it's over 7. He's probably ran that many at the least this year, plus a few last year.
