Well if Gruden is a no go why not Bobby Wilder? Yah I know noone here has ever heard of him but at least he's better than the proven mediocre coaches Hart is rumored to be pursuing.
He knows what it takes to build a team from absolutely nothing as he had to do it at Old Dominion. He was hired and given 2 years to recruit and prepare a football team for the school and in his first season finished 9-2 in FCS play.
In 4 years he has a 37-9 record and is preparing to take a school from not even having a football program to transitioning it to the FBS level by joining Conf USA.
Granted if we can get Gruden or Patterson then that who we need to get. But if its gonna come down to guys like Golden or Fedora I'd just rather we take a shot on this guy over hiring proven mediocrity.

Heres his Wiki page to save you guys sometime from having to search for info on him:

Now this is only a recommendation over guys like Golden or Fedora but please feel free to flame away.

he's done a great job but is in a very talent-rich area. Shouldn't be on UT's list

I agree but guys like Fedora and Golden shouldn't be either but for some reason those are the names that keep popping up.
If we can't get anyone that has "done it" and are going for guys that "might be able to do it" then I'd rather go for a guy that hasn't proven they can't elevate a program, just maintain its status quo. Basically he's taken nothing and made it something, Golden and Fedora took something and just kept it at the level they inherited it at.
At this point hiring the "safe" mediocre coach will be just a detrimental to the future of our program as going for the up and comer that fails. Top recruits don't want to go play for schools that are over joyous after a 9-3 season and are content going 7-5 or 8-4 every year. They don;t want to go to losing programs obviously bt they also don't want to go to schools that never have a serious shot at winning anything that matters either.

Well with all the Fedora hype I figured I'd bring this guy back up. If were gonna hire a coach alot of people have to google then I'd much rather it be him than Fedora. People keep saying all Fedora has done is win. Well thats not really the case, he went to Southern Miss and maintained what they had been doing before he got there with his last year being the only exception and then he went to UNC and pretty much maintained what they had been doing by having a bad D but out scoring the other team, which we all got to see how that works in the SEC.
Wilder on the other hand built this program from absolutely nothing, literally they didn't have a football team. He actually built the program to what it is, going from not having a football to, to #3 in FCS and heading into FBS in only 4 years. he also has a 37-9 overall record, fedora is only 42-23 as a HC so if people say all Fedora does is win then all this guy does is dominate.
Again not saying this guy should even be on our list, but since guys like Fedora are then theres no reason this guy shouldn't be. I'll take a proven FCS winner over a proven FBS mediocrity anyday.
