RealClearPolitics - A Vote for GOP is a Vote for Boehner

I guess going after Palin didn't work so now we're saying the hypothetical with him as Speaker is the new tactic. Seriously? After Pelosi's classy run are we only running on Boehner as the bad guy? It's sad when you've been in control of Congress for 4 years and the WH for two and the only thing you have to run on is scaring people on what the other side could hypothetically do. What about the wonderful achievements? What about Recovery Summer? All of the jobs saved? End of combat in Iraq (which is false)?

I thought about starting a thread on this topic a couple of days ago after Barry's Ohio speech coupled with an editorial by the sodomites at the NY Slimes, pointing out their accusation against Boehmer that a lot of our problems are caused because Boehmer has been "cozy with lobbyists."

That has to be the most hypocritical statement by Obama ever and his whole life and political carreer seem to be an exercise in hypocrisy if you consider what he does vs what he tries (often too successfullY) to get the public to believe.

Remember 'draining the swamp', 'most transparent ever', 'will have nothing to do with lobbyists?'

I did a bit of research and the list of lobbyists employed by the Obama admistration is way too exaustive to post here, Barry has hired more lobbyists than probably the last ten presidents put together.

Four to cabinet level postitions.

Biden's chief of staff is a former lobbyist.

The head of the CIA is a former lobbyist.

The White House counsel is a former lobbyist for Goldman Sachs.

There probably isn't even one governmental agency that doesn't have a former lobbyist hired by this charlatan.

And who can count the total number of federal agencies???

Thirty years ago, if you visited each federal agency office in DC and spent fifteen minutes there, and worked on a five day, forty hour work week, it would take you over five years to get the job done!!!

And how many new federal agencies have been invented in just the last thirty years??

This thread title was a little deceiving, because it seems like lately Boehner has been the whipping boy of the GOP establishment since his appearance on the Sunday talk shows this weekend and his admission that he would support extending the Bush tax cuts to just those under $200k if that was the plan that was offered to him.

Now after reading this, I didn't realize the Dems were trying to whip on him, also.

the dems are trotting out the Alinsky rule book in the 6 weeks before the election.

too bad for them that the American people have caught on and aren't buying the community organizer crap

I've thought that before and been disappointed. Just hope we have truly wised up

Well, the only thing I can pull from memory recently where I've been dissapointed with the voters was in 1992 presidential elections. Just about every other presidential and off cycle election since then has pretty much gone the way it should have based on the candidiates available and the circumstances at the time.

Certainly, you weren't surprised Dole lost in 1996 or that the GOP lost seats in Congress in 2004 and 2006?

I guess what I'm saying is that based on the atmosphere right now and the leadership we have, there is no reason to think that the Dems will not noses bloodied in November...

you would think that, but like Hannity says, "never underestimate the GOP's ability to screw things up."

I didn't say surprised I said disappointed. I think 2008 was the pinnacle because of who won and the only option presented. MG pretty much nailed it too

The fact that our current system let the political environment get so bad that a lunatic fringe lefty like Obama could win tells me we need drastic overhaul type change.

I'm no Tea Party supporter, but I do think we are witnessing the initial throws of full blown change in our two party system and it's about time. Neither party any longer represents what I believe. Both of the big parties are pure vote buyers. Eff em.

I started to add that addendum concerning a potential GOP meltdown in my other post, but at this point, I can't imagine a situation where they can screw it up in the next 6 weeks.

I couldn't agree more and hope there is a big shake up in what one might call a Washington owned and operated for the most part by a select elite few of mostly northeaster ivy leagueers.

The primary system sucks, by the time New Hampshie is done the media has already selected the top top candidates, why should Iowa have a bigger say than other states. Primaries should all be on the same day!!

No way to get term limits passed but voters can do that themselves.
