I thought UF was committed to find a pro-style OC? This is about as far from pro-style as you can get haha

I believe he runs more of a pro-style than what you see at Boise. This was his first year calling the shots so he probably had to roll with what Moore and Co were used to, and I'd imagine his time in the NFL leads him to be fairly pro-style oriented. Saban wouldn't offer, and he has according to Bammers, if he plans on running a Boise offense.

Maybe someday coaches will learn that its Chris Petersen and not his offensive coordinators. The new Texas OC from Boise underwhelmed big time his first year there. Thats great news for us vol fans tho.

Vol fans should look at this as an example of how to follow the Sabanization Process. Pease has not only been Saban approved, but Saban is actually hoping to hire him, also. He met with us yesterday and will meet with Nick on Tuesday.

Contrast this with Hart forcing Dooley to veer off the Saban track and hire Randy Shannon; potentially ruining the progress Dooley has been making and ostracizing him within the Saban Coaching Fraternity.

Charlie Weis says hello. Oh, and goodbye.

Charlie Weis says hello. Oh, and goodbye.

Charlie Weis was Saban accredited by virtue of coaching under Belichick, who was Saban's mentor. Philosophically, they are all on the same page. The same can't be said of Randy Shannon. When you convert to Sabanism, one of the main precepts is an aggressive 3-4 defense. Shannon runs a passive 4-3. It's obvious Dooley doesn't want to make the hire, but Hart is forcing his hand. Mr. Hart should look south to Gainesville for an example of how to properly Sabanize a program. I fear these two moves (Pease to UF, Shannon to UT) will only widen the gap between our programs, when in reality we should be moving toward a convergence similar to Bama and LSU in the West. I hope for your sake that Saban doesn't excommunicate Dooley for the non-accredited hire. Saban has always said that he doesn't take a lot of phone calls, but will usually make an exception for disciples (and when he does speak with the disciples, he's known to be very generous in terms of tips about schemes and up-and-coming coaches to hire). I'd just hate to see Dooley lose his privileges all because Hart went rogue and violated Saban's principles.

Chas, Weis was not a vetted Saban guy and Belichek may have mentored Saban, but Saban runs the ball and plays defense. Belichek has not had a run game in years. They resemble each other defensively, but I was talking about Weis.
